CQC Registered Manager - Learning Disability Residential Home

Our 9-bed residential care home in Mitcham is seeking a new registered manager! The ideal candidate for this position will succeed in this role if they have both knowledge and experience in the social care sector, specifically Learning Disability. The registered manager will need to register with the CQC and passing the probation stage of the role will be dependent on the CQC approving their registration. Our Learning Disability residential home is seeking a new manager to support up to 9 service users who live with Learning Disabilities, physical disabilities, Autism, and/or complex behaviours. In addition to managing the residential care home, the candidate will manage the growing Domcare aspect of the business. Responsibilities Ensuring the safety and well-being of the service users within the home · All service users will be safe, provided with person-centred care, and indicating that they are happy via feedback mechanisms · Holding responsibility for all areas of the care provided Following CQC regulations and ensuring the home is compliant · Maintaining CQC compliance, regularly auditing and improving, and preparing for CQC inspection. Maintaining ‘Good’ CQC report for the home ·* Managing a team of staff * · Organising the staff rota, conducting supervisions for the staff, ensuring that staff follow policies and procedures, pushing the professional development of the staff members, hosting regular staff meetings, dealing with disciplinary actions ·* Liaising with professionals and stakeholders* · Ensuring MDT members, stakeholders, family members and other outside bodies are kept updated · Collecting feedback from stakeholders and making improvements as needed · Maintaining relationships with stakeholders and making positive links for the organisation ·* Upholding and improving the organisation’s reputation * · Maintaining CQC report of ‘Good’ and working towards improving to ‘Outstanding’ · Representing the organisation when liaising with outside bodies · Seeking continual improvement and pushing new initiatives ·* Ensuring the home is at capacity* · Assessing potential service users, submitting proposals, liaising with professionals, ensuring all beds are filled in a timely manner ·* Holding responsibility for administration tasks* · Auditing, writing care plans and risk assessments, completing provider information requests, following policies and procedures and completing all administration tasks required · Delegating tasks as required and ensuring completion ·* Managing the finances of the home* · Ensuring financial viability of the home including managing purchasing, keeping track of resident funds, recording financial transactions and auditing the home’s finances Qualifications Essential Willing to register with CQC Mandatory social care trainings including medication administration Care Certificate Desirable Level 5 NVQ in Health and Social Care Nursing degree PBS qualifications BSc in a relevant area such as social work, nursing etc Personal attributes/abilities Essential Compassion Resilience Organisation Good leader Ability to take initiative Willing to learn and improve An Enhanced DBS on the update service will be required. Support Worker & Carer for teenager (Day and Night)

We are looking for a support worker / carer to join the team around a 18 year old severely disabled & autistic & epileptic teenager with additional health needs. We are looking to find someone who will be happy to do day shifts as well as waking night shifts. This position would be for 26-37.5 hours weekly (this could include 1 or 2 regular waking nights - depending on the applicant). You are legally able to work self-employed with a UTR number. Hourly rate £16 per hour (during induction and training £15). You will have experience working with young people with disabilities or you are studying a health socail care related field (eg Psychology, physio, social work etc). This would suit a student of a related field (eg. Psychology, Nursing, SEN Pedagogy, Physio etc.) You will have to have clear interest in working with disabled and level 3 autistic people. Good english required. You need to be also quite fit to support someone with a physical disability. When you apply - please write a sentence to begin the conversation and let us know why you applied. You are open to work some weekends (or most weekends if this suits you) and some bank holidays (shared with the team). About the Teen: He is a friendly, non verbal, very autistic young man with severe epilepsy, a movement disorder and additional health needs. He can walk only with support. The young person lives at home with his family. He needs help with all elements of his daily life. Although he does like to be active this is not in an athletic way. During these activities (even while walking) he needs quite a bit of support at all times. He also loves to be entertained - so who ever applies needs to be quite fit and strong and fun but also patient. He often also needs a lot of care as he can have seizures or other heath issues which lead to him needing to spend time in hospital. When he is in hospital he needs more care and patience. You are not afraid to learn care elements like catheterisation and dealing with PEG and Peristeen (ideally you have experience already and other elements of care - otherwise we train you). You need to be following the behaviour plan (ABA) which we would explain to you and you would be required to attend the team meetings with our ABA Consultant and the rest of the experienced team. You are open to accompany the young person on a summer break and support him. And are able to support also some days during the Christmas / New Years Break. You are also flexible enough to be the second person in the house when the parents need to be away for work or travel. Both day and night shifts are available and we want to find applicants who are open to both day and night shifts. Do please not apply if you do not want to cover waking night shifts at all or no day shifts at all. You would be willing to commit for a minimum of 12 months or more. This position is from end of August / start of September. You live in North London and do not have too far to travel. This is a job that could be very fulfilling but it is also complex and would be difficult for someone who has no experience or interest for disability and autism. But it is a chance to learn about autism and disability and how to support a vulnerable person. Please read this ad completely before we discuss the position further. You will be provided with regular training on his health and care needs which include seizure management, catheterisation, bowel and peg management and behavioural support. Regular team meetings with the ABA Consultant. Flexibility around days worked to accommodate studies or other commitments. Not a Care home Job and not similar at all. This position is very different from a care home position. About the Job: Hourly rate £15 p/h during 3 month training and probation (full probation is 6 months) - hourly rate then rises to £16 and after one year to £17 per hour. Part time & Full time available : Part time :26 -30 hr Full time: 37.5 hours + (please let us know you availability in your cover letter). There are always extra bank hours additionally available (when team members are on holiday) if you needed more hours. This will ideally be your only job next to studies. Or if full time - it needs to be your only job. We can unfortunately not offer a Sponsorship Visa. Also let us initially know your availability and if you are interested in part or full time. Later on we will need 2 relevant recent references and a valid DBS.
