Area Manager – Nursing Homes Location: West Midlands Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time Salary: £60,000 per annum (with flexibility for candidates demonstrating exceptional experience and specialist knowledge) + Performance Bonus Travel Required: Yes – across West Midlands Overview We are recruiting an experienced Area Manager to oversee a portfolio of nursing homes across the West Midlands. This is a senior operational leadership role with full accountability for clinical standards, CQC compliance, financial performance, occupancy, and multi-site management. You will report directly to the CEO and lead Registered Managers to deliver safe, compliant and commercially successful services. This role is suited to an experienced multi-site operator within the nursing home sector. Key Responsibilities • Provide operational leadership across multiple nursing homes, • Lead Registered Managers to achieve strong CQC outcomes and regulatory compliance, • Drive service recovery within homes rated Requires Improvement, • Lead services through CQC inspections, action plans and regulatory processes, • Maintain high clinical governance standards, • Oversee safeguarding, risk management and incident review, • Hold full P&L and budget responsibility across the region, • Drive occupancy growth and commercial performance, • Support registration extensions and service development, • Ensure effective workforce planning, recruitment and retention, • Registered Nurse (RN) qualification, • Minimum 3–5 years’ senior management experience within residential/nursing homes, • Proven multi-site management experience, • Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations and inspection frameworks, • Demonstrable experience managing homes rated Requires Improvement and improving inspection outcomes, • Experience leading services through inspections and compliance action plans, • Proven financial management and P&L responsibility, • Experience managing services supporting residents with complex clinical needs, • Strong operational and clinical leadership, • Commercial awareness and financial management capability, • Ability to manage performance and drive improvement, • Confident stakeholder engagement with families, commissioners and external partners, • Effective change management across multiple services, • Strong organisational and reporting skills, • CQC ratings and inspection outcomes, • Occupancy levels, • Staff retention and vacancy rates, • Incident and safeguarding metrics, • EBITDA / margin performance, • Hybrid role (office and on-site presence), • Frequent travel between services, • Salary £60,000, with flexibility for candidates demonstrating exceptional experience and specialist knowledge, • Performance-related bonus scheme, • Senior leadership support, • Opportunity to lead service expansion and registration extensions If you are an experienced nursing home operations leader with strong regulatory and commercial expertise, we welcome your application.
