About the Role As Senior National Account Manager – Grocery, you will lead Borough Broth’s commercial relationships with key national grocery retailers and play a central role in scaling the brand across the UK grocery landscape. You will take ownership of one or more key grocery retail partnerships, which may include Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Ocado or Waitrose, driving sustainable revenue growth, expanding distribution, and delivering commercially successful joint business plans. This role requires someone who combines strong commercial instinct with confident negotiation and strategic thinking. Working closely with retail buyers and senior stakeholders, you will shape how Borough Broth shows up within our grocery partners, from new product launches to promotional planning and long term category growth. Internally, you will collaborate closely with marketing, finance, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure exceptional execution across every account. This is an opportunity to play a key role in growing a purpose driven food brand within some of the UK’s most influential retailers. Your Impact and Responsibilities Lead strategic grocery accounts • Own and develop relationships with key national grocery retailers, • Lead joint business planning and define long term growth strategies, • Own revenue delivery, trade investment, and account profitability, • Negotiate commercial agreements, promotional plans, and pricing structures, • Identify opportunities for new product listings and range expansion, • Lead the launch of new products within grocery accounts, • Analyse retailer data and syndicated data (Nielsen, Circana, SPINS) to identify opportunities, • Track key performance metrics including distribution, rate of sale, and promotional ROI, • Partner with marketing on shopper campaigns and retailer activations, • Work closely with supply chain and operations to maintain service excellence, • Collaborate with finance on trade spend and margin management, • Contribute to category presentations and retailer selling stories Your First-Year Roadmap 3 months Build strong relationships with key retail buyers and internal stakeholders. Develop a deep understanding of Borough Broth’s product range, category position, and current retailer performance. 6 months Lead joint business planning conversations with your accounts and begin delivering measurable improvements across distribution, promotions, and product listings. 12 months Establish Borough Broth as a trusted and high performing supplier across your retailers, delivering meaningful sales growth and stronger long term partnerships. About You You will thrive in this role if you are commercially driven, confident working with senior retail stakeholders, and motivated by the challenge of scaling a purpose led food brand within grocery. You bring: • 6+ years FMCG sales experience, • Proven experience managing major UK grocery retailers such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Ocado or Waitrose, • Strong experience leading Joint Business Planning (JBP) with national grocery accounts, • A deep understanding of UK grocery retail dynamics and buyer structures, • Strong commercial negotiation experience with national retailers, • Strong analytical capability and experience with syndicated data tools such as Nielsen or Circana, • Advanced Excel skills and ability to turn data into actionable insights, • Excellent communication and presentation skills, • A collaborative mindset and ability to influence cross functional teams, • Willingness to travel for retailer meetings and planning sessions as required Working Setup Full-time role Hybrid working: three days in-office (Greenford, West London - From 2027), with two days remote Reports to: Sales Director Hiring Process We believe in a transparent, fair, and respectful process that gives you a clear sense of our culture and how we work, while giving us a true picture of your skills and fit for the team. Stage 2 – Commercial Team Chat (30 mins) A conversation with the Sales Director to discuss your experience managing grocery accounts, your commercial approach, and how you build strong retailer partnerships. Stage 3 – Case Study / Task Presentation (1 hour) A session with the Sales Director, Founder, and selected team members depending on availability. You will present a short commercial case study designed to showcase your strategic thinking and account management approach. We are not looking for polished creative or free ideas. We are interested in how you think. No ideas shared during this stage will ever be used outside of the interview process. The full process typically takes around three weeks end to end.
