Teaching Assistant - SEN Support (Trauma-Informed)Location: BlackpoolPosition Type: Full-Time / April - July Are you a compassionate, patient, and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting young children with additional needs? We are seeking a committed Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join our nurturing, trauma-informed SEN support group in Blackpool. This rewarding role involves working closely with children who have a range of special educational needs, including those who have experienced trauma. You will play a key role in helping pupils feel safe, understood, and supported, enabling them to thrive both emotionally and academically. Key Responsibilities: • Provide tailored support to Year 1 pupils within a small, supportive SEN group setting, • Implement trauma-informed approaches to support emotional regulation and wellbeing, • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities, • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to promote confidence and resilience, • Support the development of communication, social, and behavioural skills, • Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to individual support plansThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:, • Experience working with children in an educational or care setting (SEN experience preferred), • A good understanding of trauma-informed practice or a willingness to learn, • Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills, • The ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations, • A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning, • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essentialWhat We Offer:, • A supportive and welcoming school environment, • Ongoing professional development, including training in trauma-informed approaches, • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children's lives To apply: Please submit your CV, or contact Issy via / Safeguarding Statement: This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
