Our Senior Architectural Business Analysts are at the heart of analysing, collaborating and understanding Ideas and Business Problems. Using emerging technologies and user centric thinking from inception through discovery in providing proof of concept(s), co creation and ideation of solutions in conjunction with Business areas, third parties, external suppliers, academia and financial institutions. Proactive and reactive to changing opportunities with the skill to interpret and react to small, medium and large-scale challenges. Person specification You will be expected to:Have a good understanding of strategic areas and be able to lead the architectural business analysis service on large and complex projects. Develop and manage excellent stakeholder relationships and be able to build long term strategic relationships. Investigate problems, identify opportunities, and elicit requirements, to seek effective business solutions by using the full suite of Business Analysis techniques. Have a good knowledge of modelling techniques and skills to map out the As-Is and define/shape the To-Be service regarding technology and business change, with a particular focus on the architectural components of the service. Ensure you and your team are using the right tools and methodologies, and promote innovation in techniques using innovative ways of working and utilisation of tooling technology. Use your skills to plan, arrange and facilitate meetings and workshops with stakeholders throughout the change lifecycle; taking responsibility for the management of stakeholder relationships across different levels of seniority. Model complex business situations, gaining insight from senior stakeholders as well as users, and then communicate results and analysis clearly to all levels of stakeholders including senior management. Identify, document and mitigate risks and issues, escalating where appropriate. Role model HMRCs values, displaying professional behaviours at all times. Work within different delivery methodologies including Agile/Scrum/Waterfall. Mentor and support junior colleagues including those not under your direct line management. Person and task management of team members. Have or develop knowledge of the systems landscape in HMRC. Essential Criteria: Demonstrable Business Analysis skills and capabilities using the full suite of techniques and methods, ideally with an architecture and innovative focus. Demonstrable experience of stakeholder engagement, handling conflict and resolving challenge both across internal and external stakeholder landscapes. Experience of leading on projects and presenting findings in a constructive evidential method to senior leaders. Proven experience of leadership and collaborative working with other team professions, in a multi-disciplinary team. Excellent communication skills, communicating both technical and business matters clearly in lay terms for comprehension by multiple audiences. Experience in coaching/mentoring junior colleagues. Desirable Criteria: Experience of being a line manager. BCS Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent, or be working towards these, or have the relevant Business analysis experience. Experience of project management. Experience of more than one project methodology (e.g. Waterfall, Agile).
