Manufacturing Engineer Location: Hayes, UK Contract Type: Permanent Salary: up to £43,000 Are you passionate about making things better, faster, and smarter? Do you thrive on solving problems and driving change? We’re looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Manufacturing Engineer to help us take our operations to the next level! What You’ll Be Doing: • Championing continuous improvement across our manufacturing processes, • Applying Lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and boost efficiency, • Leading and supporting cross-functional projects with teams from Operations, IT, Tooling, Supply Chain, and Maintenance, • Investigating new methods and layouts to improve throughput and flexibility, • Tackling production challenges head-on with structured problem-solving techniques, • Analysing performance data and turning insights into action, • Supporting equipment maintenance and ensuring everything runs like clockwork, • Keeping our SAP master data for tooling and equipment up to date What We’re Looking For: • A minimum of HND in a mechanical discipline (CAD experience is a big plus!), • A genuine interest in tool design and process optimisation, • Familiarity with Lean, Continuous Improvement, and Statistical Process Control is beneficial, • Someone who’s curious, collaborative, and committed to making a difference You’ll Love It Here: You’ll be part of a team that values innovation, teamwork, and a hands-on approach to improvement. Experience & Skills • 3–5 years of experience managing end-to-end manufacturing or engineering projects in a production environment., • Proven track record in driving process improvement using tools such as Pareto analysis, DMAIC, and OEE., • Experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, 8D)., • Strong understanding of metal component processing and surface finishing operations, particularly for aerospace components., • Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings and applying metrology principles., • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across teams., • Advanced IT skills, including ERP/MRP systems, MS Office, and CAD software.
