Team Leader - Nights Location: Winchester Pay: £15.00 - £16.00 per hour Hours: 3 or 4 shifts per week - 12-hour shifts The Role Our client is currently recruiting an experienced Night Team Leader to join their dedicated care team within a residential or nursing home environment in Winchester. This is a key leadership opportunity for an experienced care professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care while supporting and developing a team of care staff. You will play a vital role in ensuring safe, effective and compassionate care is consistently delivered throughout the night shift, whilst acting as a role model and providing guidance, support and leadership to the wider care team. Essential Requirements: • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent or higher qualification)., • Previous experience working within a residential or nursing home care setting., • Experience in a supervisory, senior care or team leader role within care., • Competent in safe medication administration., • Strong understanding of safeguarding, CQC standards and care regulations., • Experience with care planning, documentation and person-centred care delivery., • Confident using digital care systems, e-MAR systems and Microsoft Office., • Strong communication skills with residents, families, colleagues and external professionals., • Ability to prioritise workload and manage a busy and varied environment., • Right to work in the UK. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management • Leading, motivating and supporting care staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care., • Acting as a role model and mentor, supporting staff induction and ongoing development., • Providing day-to-day guidance, supervision and support to the care team., • Promoting a positive, professional and supportive working environment., • Identifying and escalating performance, absence or welfare concerns appropriately. Care Delivery • Providing and overseeing safe, dignified personal care tailored to individual needs., • Administering medication safely where trained and competent to do so., • Supporting residents with physical care needs, emotional wellbeing, illness and end-of-life care., • Ensuring care is delivered in line with individual care plans., • Working alongside external professionals including GPs, social workers and therapists. Care Planning & Documentation • Supporting the assessment, planning, implementation and review of care plans., • Maintaining accurate and detailed care records., • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding requirements, care standards and regulatory expectations., • Supporting continuity of care through effective communication and documentation. Operational Oversight • Supporting safe shift handovers and effective staff allocation., • Monitoring care standards throughout the night shift., • Supporting audits, incident reporting and quality monitoring processes., • Promoting health and safety across the care environment., • Acting as a champion for best practice where required. Resident Engagement • Supporting meaningful activities and daily engagement., • Encouraging residents’ independence, choice and involvement., • Building positive relationships with residents and families., • Understanding individual needs, preferences and personal histories.
