Job Purpose: To provide safe, respectful, and professional transport for patients requiring non-emergency or secure ambulance services. The role involves supporting vulnerable individuals throughout their journey, working as part of a team to maintain safety, dignity, and high standards of care during transit. Key Responsibilities: • Safely transport patients to and from hospitals, mental health facilities, residential homes, and private addresses., • Provide support and supervision to individuals who may have complex mental health needs, learning disabilities, or challenging behaviours., • Work in line with agreed care plans, risk assessments, and transport protocols., • Use de-escalation and communication skills to manage distressed or agitated patients in a calm and safe manner., • Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the vehicle before and after each journey., • Accurately complete transport documentation and incident reports where necessary., • Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues., • Follow safeguarding, infection control, and health and safety procedures at all times., • Participate in training, supervision, and debriefing as required. Essential Requirements: • Experience working in care, support, or healthcare settings., • Good understanding of safeguarding, dignity, and respectful care., • Calm, patient, and professional under pressure., • Physically fit and able to assist with patient movement and secure transport duties., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., • Flexibility to work shifts including early mornings, evenings, and weekends., • Enhanced DBS (or willing to undergo one). Desirable: • Experience with secure or mental health transport., • MAPA/PMVA or equivalent de-escalation/restraint training (or willingness to train)., • Full UK driving licence (clean) – preferred for driver roles., • First Aid or Basic Life Support certification.
