History Teacher Location: Chorley Contract: Full-time Start Date: September 2026 Pay: From £170 per day (dependent on experience) About the Role We are delighted to be recruiting an enthusiastic and inspiring History Teacher to join a thriving and supportive Humanities department at a thriving secondary school in Chorley. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who enjoys bringing history to life and inspiring curiosity, critical thinking, and academic excellence in the classroom. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and creative lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, contributing to a rich and ambitious curriculum while supporting students to achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities • Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons across KS3 and KS4, • Create a stimulating, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment, • Use effective assessment strategies to track progress and support development, • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development, • Inspire curiosity, analytical thinking, and a love of learning, • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, • Strong subject knowledge with a genuine passion for History, • Ability to engage, motivate, and challenge students of all abilities, • Excellent communication and organisational skills, • Strong commitment to safeguarding and student welfare, • A school with high ambition for pupils, underpinned by a broad and carefully structured curriculum across all subject areas, • Positive behaviour and attitudes to learning – Ofsted recognises pupils as friendly, respectful, and feeling safe within the school environment, • Supportive and approachable leadership team, rated Good by Ofsted, with a clear vision for continued school improvement, • Strong focus on professional development, curriculum refinement, and improving teaching and learning through evidence-informed practice, • Emphasis on personal development and enrichment, including leadership opportunities and a wide range of extra-curricular activities, • Weekly pay via PAYE, • Supportive and collaborative teaching environment, • Access to bespoke CPD and training opportunities, • Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement, • Clear opportunities for career progression
