Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Year 6 Harrow, North West London Full-Time | Long-Term Contract | September 2026 Start Daily Rate: £110 - £130 per day Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are reserved for candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training. Teach Now is recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Harrow for the full academic year from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious HLTA, experienced Teaching Assistant or aspiring teacher to gain valuable Upper Key Stage 2 experience within a highly supportive school environment. About the Role The successful candidate will work across a large Year 6 cohort supporting pupils within three classes. The role will involve leading small group sessions, delivering targeted interventions and providing in-class academic support across core subjects, particularly English and Maths. You will work closely with the Year Group Leader and teaching staff to help raise attainment, boost confidence and ensure pupils are fully supported throughout their final year of primary school. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, organised and passionate about helping children achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities • Deliver targeted interventions and small group teaching sessions • Support pupils across Year 6 classes in English, Maths and foundation subjects • Assist with SATs preparation and booster sessions • Provide in-class support for pupils of mixed abilities, including SEND learners • Help maintain a positive and focused learning environment • Support teachers with classroom organisation and lesson preparation • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents • Work collaboratively as part of a supportive Upper KS2 team The Ideal Candidate Will Have • Previous experience working as an HLTA or experienced Teaching Assistant within a primary school • Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum, particularly Year 6 expectations • Confidence leading interventions and supporting small group learning • Excellent behaviour management and communication skills • A proactive, flexible and organised approach • The ability to motivate and engage pupils effectively • A passion for supporting children academically and emotionally What the School Offers • A welcoming and supportive leadership team • Strong year group collaboration and excellent staff support • Well-resourced classrooms and modern learning environments • Valuable experience within Upper KS2 and SATs preparation • A positive and inclusive school culture where staff wellbeing matters • Opportunities for professional growth and teacher training pathways Why work via Teach Now?
