Job Title: Automation Service Engineer Location: Cheltenham/Tewkesbury (with ~70% travel UK, Ireland, North America) Salary: £45,000–£50,000 + benefits Hours: Monday–Thursday 08:00–17:00, Friday 08:00–14:00 (flexible during travel or site work) Pertemps Engineering is partnering with specialists in bespoke factory automation and control systems to recruit an experienced Automation Service Engineer. Your responsibilities will include: • Electrical installation, machinery commissioning, and post-purchase servicing., • Installation of control panels and leading the build of bespoke machines and automation systems., • Troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges quickly and effectively., • Ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards, on time, every time., • Mentoring junior team members and collaborating with a dedicated, hardworking team. Candidate Requirements: • Apprentice-trained or qualified industrial electrical fitter (preferred)., • Experience interpreting electrical (essential) and mechanical (advantageous) engineering drawings., • Strong automation machinery experience, including industrial control systems/PLC programming., • Knowledge of pneumatic systems, industrial networks, and medium-sized assemblies., • Experience working in hygienic environments with strong health & safety awareness., • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills., • Self-motivated, punctual, and able to manage time and teams effectively., • Flexible with travel (~70%, including UK and North America)., • Full UK driving licence (≤3 penalty points) and UK/EU passport.
