At Quest Global, we are actively looking for Senior System Test Engineer / Test Equipment (TE) Development Engineer to join one of our Aerospace and Defense project team based in Luton, UK. Role : Full time contract Disclaimer : Due to the nature of the project, UK/ EU citizenship is mandatory to be able to clear the background checks and obtain SC clearance. Role Overview: We have a requirement for an experienced Test Systems or Test Equipment (TE) development engineer. The work will involve formalising the TE design for a Design Verification Test (DVT) system, based on an existing prototype test set-up, expanding and improving functionality of the system to meet test requirements and ensuring that each stage of the TE development process from Requirements through to Qualification is completed. Candidates should currently be employed as a Test Systems engineer / Test Equipment development engineer with experience of test system design for complex, high-reliability systems, including Commercial OFF The Shelf (COTS) / custom hardware and test software. Ideally, we are looking someone with previous experience in Radar TE development but candidates with experience of other aerospace/ defence applications, space, nuclear, automotive or transportation sectors will be considered. Job Responsibilities: Will vary depending on level of experience but responsibilities may include: Establish test requirements for verification/qualification of main equipment LRI. Generate test plans & test documentation to undertake Design Verification testing. Planning / preparation for TE development, including test hardware (custom/ COTS), tools & test software. Produce TE requirement specifications (i.e. test hardware and test software requirements). Produce detailed TE design documentation, including drawings, BOMs, etc. Liaise with TE software engineer(s) to ensure TE software solution is delivered. Propose and see through to conclusion, any TE design changes/improvements required to meet test requirements. Undertake/support Safety & Cyber security analysis of DVT system. Produce required documentation for each stage of the TE development process. Prepare and present design data, status, risks, etc at TE design reviews & ensure completion of actions. Release drawings, BOMs, etc for TE hardware and documentation (VDD’s, SRN’s, etc) for test software on customer’s PDM system. Undertake / oversee qualification of TE solution and produce Qualification/acceptance test report. Produce user documentation for DVT system. Support initial Design Verification testing of main equipment LRI, where necessary. Work Experience / Skills, Qualifications and Experience required: Mandatory Previous TE development experience for complex, high-reliability systems. Experience of full TE development lifecycle, from establishing test requirements through to qualification / acceptance of TE. Experience of working in multi-disciplined Engineering teams. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to generate high-quality test documentation (test requirements, TE specifications, TE design data, user documentation, qualification / acceptance test documents & reports). Use of General Purpose TE (i.e. spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc) & experience of running test scripts. Desirable Previous TE development experience for Radar or EW systems. Experience of developing TE for DVT, ESS (Extended Stress Screening) & Qualification testing. Previous experience of LabVIEW / Test stand (although proprietary, in-house Test software will be used for this application). Experience of Requirements management tools such as DOORS. Qualifications / Education Type HND / HNC or degree (BSc / BEng) in a relevant STEM-based subject. HND / HNC or degree (BSc / BEng) in Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics.
