Team / Division overview The DWS Alternatives business is a diversified set of business activities with approximately EUR 150bn in assets under management in strategies including Private Real Estate, Private Infrastructure, Private Credit and Liquid Real Assets (Real Estate/Infrastructure and Commodity Securities). The global team invests on behalf of a global client base that includes governments, corporations, institutional investors, as well as a growing UNHW investor group. Private Credit is a key growth pillar of the DWS Alternatives franchise. The Private Credit platform aims to build diversified portfolios across asset-based finance, direct lending, and structured credit to deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns with a focus on capital preservation to a broad spectrum of investors including governments, corporations, insurance companies and private clients. Your responsibilities As the Senior Principal for Insurance Solutions you will be responsible for: • Lead the structuring of complex insurance‑eligible assets, including Matching Adjustment (MA) and Highly Predictable (HP) solutions, across Private Credit for UK, European and US insurance companies., • Own the full transaction lifecycle, including origination support, due diligence, credit underwriting, downside and stress analysis, structuring, covenant negotiation, investment committee approval, execution and ongoing monitoring., • Design innovative insurance‑friendly private credit investment structures., • Partner closely with insurance client teams, ALM, actuarial, risk, legal, tax and portfolio management functions to deliver capital‑efficient investment outcomes., • Provide technical leadership on insurance balance‑sheet optimisation topics, including Solvency UK / Solvency II, SCR efficiency, capital treatment and internal/external ratings considerations., • Oversee portfolio construction and ongoing credit surveillance, including periodic credit reviews, deep‑dive reassessments and performance reporting., • Support the development of internal governance, investment frameworks, methodologies and management information related to private credit and insurance structuring., • Contribute to client engagement, solution design discussions and thought leadership around private credit and insurance investment structuring. We are looking for: • Significant experience in structuring private credit, fixed income and alternative credit investments for insurance balance sheets., • Deep technical knowledge of insurance regulatory capital frameworks, including Solvency II / Solvency UK and Matching Adjustment eligibility., • Proven expertise in credit underwriting, covenant design, downside analysis, stress testing and internal credit rating methodologies., • Strong background across private credit asset classes with experience designing and executing innovative investment structures., • Advanced understanding of ALM considerations, portfolio construction and capital‑efficient investment design for insurance clients., • Strong fixed income and derivatives knowledge, including interest rates, inflation‑linked instruments and hedging strategies., • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across investment, risk, actuarial, legal and finance teams., • Highly developed analytical and quantitative capabilities, supported by strong academic credentials and technical proficiency., • Fluency in English with additional European languages advantageous for cross‑border insurance client engagement.
