The Role As the Head of Finance, you will provide the strategic financial direction required to take this values-driven business to the next level. Key Responsibilities: • Strategic Planning: Support long-term planning, revenue modelling, and investment appraisal aligned with growth objectives., • Commercial Advisory: Act as a strategic adviser on leasing, property/land investment, and unlocking capital for expansion., • Financial Rigour: Lead the production of auditable monthly management accounts, budgeting, and rolling forecasts., • Capital & Funding: Identify and secure appropriate funding and debt structuring to support business expansion., • Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team, driving accountability and performance as the function evolves. We are looking for a "sleeves-rolled-up" leader who can balance high-level vision with a hands-on approach. • Qualifications: You must be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)., • Experience: Minimum 10 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally within a multi-site, service-led, or property-related environment., • Commercial Savvy: Experience in debt structuring, asset-backed lending, or property financing is highly advantageous., • Communication: You should be a natural collaborator who can translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders., • Resilience: Comfortable operating with ambiguity and making decisions in fast-moving situations. The role provides a varied mix of management reporting, forecasting, and business partnering, giving you the opportunity to contribute to decision-making across different areas of the business. You will join a collaborative and supportive finance team and gain exposure to a broad range of financial processes, systems, and internal stakeholders. Key responsibilities will include: Preparing monthly management accounts for several business units, including detailed commentary and analysis against budget and forecast. Completing monthly VAT returns and ensuring compliance with current HM Revenue & Customs guidance. Supporting the preparation of financial information required for regulatory and statutory reporting. Assisting with both internal and external audit processes, including the preparation of reconciliations and supporting documentation. Maintain revenue compliance, including auditing cut-off, recognition, and invoicing processes. Produce Regional P&L packs, Financial Board reports, and support monthly performance reviews. Monitor intercompany accounts, manage aged debt actions, and approve subcontractor purchase orders. Provide financial insights and ad-hoc analysis to support strategic decisions and business growth. Qualifications: Qualified or completing studies towards ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent Experience: management Accounts preparation, Accounting Principles and ability to influence others in a positive manner Skills: Proficiency in financial software, technical competency in Accounting principles and advanced Excel skills.
