\n\n \n \n Job Introduction\n An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our new Bath & North East Somerset Drug and Alcohol service. This is a vibrant new partnership delivering substance use treatment and recovery services across Bath & North East Somerset. \n Our partnership draws upon experience delivering substance use services in Bath & North East Somerset and nationally, with specialist knowledge around diverse local communities, and the community insight which only comes from hyper-localism. \n As the Clinical Lead Doctor, you’ll have the chance to make a real difference to the lives of the people we support who are experiencing difficulties from drug and alcohol use. \n Turning Point offers the chance to work with many addiction specialists across the country, lending both learning and support to this role. \n \n \n \n Role Responsibility\n The Clinical Lead will lead the service by: \n\n • Leading on all aspects of clinical governance and quality assurance, including clinical audit, clinical effectiveness and patient safety\n, • Taking a lead on service development\n, • Acting as advisor on development and implementation of policy\n, • Championing and leading research and innovation to develop new clinical guidance and service protocols\n, • Working with Turning Point colleagues nationally to optimise patient care\n, • Providing clinical supervision, training to clinical colleagues\n, • Provide expert advice to other clinicians on diagnosis, assessment and care planning, for example on complex drug interactions, comorbid drug-related physical and mental health issues, and integration of psychosocial and medical treatment\n, • Accept referrals of people with the most severe or complex needs\n, • Provide expert oversight of provision of psychosocial support, based on comprehensive knowledge of research evidence\n, • Lead introduction of innovative interventions to improve outcomes and quality of provision\n, • Undertake complex prescribing, for example injectable opioid substitution treatments, if necessary\n, • Provide liaison drug and alcohol services in acute medical and psychiatric settings and expert advice to courts\n • 26 days’ paid holiday a year + Bank Holidays, increasing with each year of service up to 28 days + Bank Holidays.
