The team works cross‑functionally with manufacturing, supply chain, regulatory, clinical and commercial teams to translate product concepts into reliable, scalable solutions that meet both customer needs and regulatory expectations. This is a highly collaborative environment, ideal for someone who values technical ownership and real‑world application of formulation science.\n\nThe Role of the Formulation & Application Specialist\n\nIn this role, you will be responsible for progressing new formulations from early‑stage concepts through development and toward manufacturing readiness. You'll apply scientific judgement, structured experimentation, and practical problem‑solving to ensure formulations are effective, stable, and fit for purpose. Experience with product development is highly desirable.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\nDesigning and developing new formulations based on briefs or target product profiles\nTranslating performance requirements into practical formulation strategies\nSelecting suitable raw materials, ingredients, and technologies\nPreparing and evaluating laboratory prototypes for feasibility, stability, and performance\nCreating clear formulation development plans and progressing work through iterative design cycles\nConducting application testing, informal stability studies, benchmarking, and compatibility assessments\nTroubleshooting formulation issues to improve performance, robustness, and manufacturability\nUsing experimental data to guide formulation decisions and assess risk\nSupporting scale‑up activities, considering processing requirements and manufacturing constraints\nMaintaining clear laboratory records, formulation histories, and technical documentation\nProviding regular technical updates to stakeholders and supporting project planning activities \n\nThe Ideal Candidate for the Formulation & Application Specialist Role\n\nTo succeed in this role, you will bring:\n\nA BSc (or higher) in chemistry, life sciences, or a closely related subject\nRecent Practical experience in formulation development and product development within a regulated environment\nRecent experience assessing application performance of consumable or applied products\nStrong problem‑solving skills and a methodical, data‑driven approach\nExcellent organisation, time‑management, and communication skills\nThe ability to work collaboratively across R&D, manufacturing, commercial and regulatory teamsDesirable experience includes:\n\nKnowledge of regulated product areas such as BPR, MDR, or cosmetics\nExperience generating technical documentation to support product claims, registrations, and QMS requirements\nInvolvement in successful product development from concept through scale‑up and launch \n\nWhy This Role?\n\nThis is a great opportunity for a formulation professional who wants real ownership of product development activities and the chance to see their work translated into manufactured products used in real‑world settings.
