EXPERTISE: We are seeking enthusiastic Engineers with a drive to work on the design and construction of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) nuclear new build power plant, currently one of the world’s largest construction projects. This is a great way to be exposed to the latest technology and digital construction methods with 3D BIM rebar modelling in TEKLA on such a large industrial project. You will be part of a site design team of civil engineers, BIM coordinator and draftsmen working on the most complicated RC structures of Nuclear Island buildings in the Hinkley Point C project (in particular, Reactor buildings, Fuel building, Safeguard buildings). You will work with senior engineer building pilot, chief draftsman and drafting team to answer to construction team requests. You will be involved in a wide range of activities, which will include: • Modifying reinforced concrete or steel structure designs compliant with the ETC-C or other relevant codes (Eurocodes) and project methodology, • Checking and coordinating the detailing activities with CAD designers or other engineers in preparation of 3D BIM rebar model and/or 2D drawings of reinforced concrete or steels structure, • Managing engineering changes in line with company/project procedures and QA process, • Liaising with other stakeholders of site engineering team or construction team for clarification on the site request, • Liaising with the office team for clarification on design package or for closing out of design package issues, • Technical review and acceptance of contractor deliverables, • Site Walkdowns and inspection SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, • At least 5 years of experience in Structural Work, • 3D BIM Rebar Modelling, • Experience with Reinforced Concrete, • Experience in TEKLA, Eurocodes, REVIT, Navisworks, • Design and Site Experience, • Previous experience of the nuclear industry sector or other highly heavy industry sectors, • Working knowledge of the detailed design phases and how this is transitioned to the construction phase, • Responsibility for schedule for engineering tasks reporting to the management, scheduling and commercial requirements, • Working with contractors on site to deliver the implementation of engineering solutions Additional information: This role will require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. We're looking for a Project Manager to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks team based in Bridgwater. The post is established in support of the KierBAM Joint Venture, managing the works for Envelope, Fit Out and MEP works in AB2. These works are critical to achieve for the power plant as the commissioning of these structures is linked to the plant flue delivery and final site commissioning. This includes planning and oversight of all aspects of the Soft FM Service which supports the project: Housekeeping, FM Helpdesk, Fleet Management, Locker Management, Welfare & Office planning and other services as requested to support HPC and its contractors. The services will be provided at HPC as well as other office and ancillary buildings on various other associated developments. This role reports to the Senior FM Delivery Lead. The role holder will be responsible for developing, reviewing and amending policies and procedures that underpin strategy within their work area, and may also be called upon to help prepare detailed specifications, in support of the procurement process. Detailed and specific reports will be required from time to time to demonstrate compliance and ongoing improvements. As the project moves forward adapting to this is pivotal.
