Security Analyst / Security Engineer – Microsoft & Cyber Essentials 💰 £40–50K (DOE) 📍 Basildon, Essex 🕐 Permanent, full-time This is an opportunity to join an award-winning, UK-based MSP with 30+ years’ heritage, over 600 customers and a growing Microsoft-led security & cloud practice. You’ll be part of a hands-on security engineering team helping customers build secure, compliant modern workplace environments across M365, Intune and Defender with proactive services like Cyber Essentials and monitoring at the core. This isn’t a SOC role buried in alerts. It’s a customer-facing, technically deep role owning delivery, shaping process, working across sectors and helping elevate security across the business. The Role • Monitor and respond to security alerts, incidents and vulnerabilities., • Deliver Cyber Essentials & Cyber Essentials Plus engagements and renewals., • Deploy and support Microsoft 365 Security, Intune and Defender solutions., • Assist with vulnerability management and remediation across customer estates., • Work with platforms like Mimecast, SentinelOne, Sophos and Microsoft Security & Compliance Centre., • Act as 2nd / 3rd line escalation and drive root cause investigations., • Collaborate with customers on audits, compliance and proactive improvement. What we're Looking For Must-Haves: • Experience in an MSP/IT services environment OR large enterprise experience., • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Intune and Defender., • Hands-on with security monitoring tools (EDR/MDR/AV/mail gateway)., • Understanding of Cyber Essentials / CE+ processes or comparable frameworks., • Ability to interpret security logs, trace incidents, perform root-cause analysis., • Excellent communicator – able to engage with customers and non-technical stakeholders., • Enjoys variety, multi-sector customer work and the opportunity to shape a growing team. Desirable: • Experience with regulatory/compliance frameworks., • Certifications such as Network+ / Security+ / SSCP / Microsoft security certs., • Familiarity with Microsoft Purview, Sentinel, CoPilot or other AI/data governance tooling., • Prior exposure to SentinelOne, Sophos or similar EDR platforms. Electrical Technicians – Workshop & Field Service Location: West Horndon (covering sites across the UK, primarily the Southeast) Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role An established and growing engineering services provider is seeking experienced Electrical Technicians to join their team as Workshop and Field Service Engineers. This is a permanent role based in West Horndon, with travel to various client sites across the UK, mainly within the southeast region. Based at the Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace, in this dual role you’ll join our Fire and Access team to provide a 24/7 fire surveillance service and support all aspects of fire safety across the entire London estate, as well as providing access control support at the Royal Mews. Key Responsibilities: You’ll monitor and respond to automatic fire detection systems, carry out ad-hoc patrols, as well as acting as first-response in the event of a fire or other emergency across all parts of the London estate. Based in the Control Room, you’ll be expected to monitor the security and access control systems, working in close liaison with the Police Control Room. You’ll also manage hot works permits, carry out fire safety ‘point of presence’ inspections, call point testing, fire panels, inspections of firefighting equipment, maintaining logs of activity on line and in daily logs. At other times, you’ll be a visible presence to ensure the safe operation of vehicle and pedestrian access routes for the Royal Mews, verifying passes and identification. You’ll also support daily operations by issuing keys, helping to co-ordinate parking and accepting deliveries. In the event of a fire, you’ll use systems to monitor smoke levels and make decisions regarding safe evacuation, carry out dynamic risk assessments, and act as ‘pathfinders’ for the fire service. You will also provide first aid support to the Royal Mews and elsewhere as required. You may be required to attend some events to ensure a Fire Service presence. The breadth of this role will provide opportunities to develop your existing skills, whilst gaining experience and training in new areas, enabling you to deliver a vital service to this unique organisation. Shift Pattern: You will work a 12 hour shift pattern of two days and two nights with four days off. About you Essential Criteria: While experience of working in the emergency services, preferably the fire service, would be an advantage, it’s your pro-active attitude and team-focused approach that will make the real difference. Standard IT skills are a must, including an ability to input data into spreadsheets, and you can also learn new systems quickly enabling you to operate our fire and security systems. With a good level of physical fitness, you’ll be confident carrying out inspections, working at heights and in confined spaces. Interpersonal skills are vital too, because you’ll be working closely with a wide range of people including employees, residents and visitors. With initiative, a responsive attitude and calm under pressure, you’re as effective working alone as you are working as part of a team.
