Subcontract / Self‑Employed Electrician (Part‑Time, Ongoing Projects) Location: Market Harborough + up to 1‑hour travel radius Engagement: Subcontract / Self‑Employed Flexible commitment: 1–2 days per week (project‑based) Some evening and weekend work required depending on customer operations The Opportunity An established and growing Mechanical & Electrical Engineering business is expanding its subcontractor network due to a strong pipeline of ongoing work across domestic and commercial projects, including EV charging, solar PV, and battery storage. We’re looking to build a long‑term relationship with a reliable, professional electrician who takes pride in their workmanship and represents clients to a high standard. This role is ideal for a self‑employed or subcontract electrician seeking consistent, well‑paid work without the burden of client acquisition. Scope of Work You’ll support a range of projects including: • Domestic & commercial electrical installation, maintenance, and repairs, • Inspection, testing, and certification (BS7671 compliant), • EV charger installations and maintenance, • Solar PV and battery storage installations (advantageous), • Fault‑finding and troubleshooting, • Ensuring safe, compliant, and high‑quality work at all times Requirements Essential: • Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation, • 2391‑52 (or equivalent) – Inspection & Testing, • Strong working knowledge of BS7671, • Proven experience across domestic and commercial work, • Ability to work independently on site, • Full UK driving license, • 3+ years’ experience within electrical / electrical manufacturing / electronics environments, • Comfortable working in an onsite setting Desirable: • EV charger installation experience, • Solar PV / battery storage exposure, • AM2 qualification, • NICEIC or NAPIT registration What’s On Offer: • Reliable, repeat work as projects grow, • Flexible scheduling around your existing commitments, • Prompt, straightforward payment, • Clear communication and organized projects, • Professional, long‑term subcontract relationship
