The Senior Management Accountant will play a crucial role in providing financial insights and analysis to support decision-making within the business services industry. Description • Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness., • Support the budgeting and forecasting process, providing clear and actionable insights., • Monitor financial performance and highlight variances to key stakeholders., • Collaborate with departmental heads to develop and manage financial plans., • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards., • Provide support for audits and assist with the preparation of statutory accounts., • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies., • Deliver financial reports and presentations to senior management as required. Profile A successful Senior Management Accountant should have: • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent., • Proven experience in management accounting within a not-for-profit or research environment, with a strong understanding of grant funding structures, restrictions, and reporting requirements., • Demonstrated ability to manage and monitor multiple funding streams, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and ensuring compliance with funder guidelines., • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering with researchers, project leads, and external funders to provide financial insight and support decision-making., • Advanced technical accounting skills (e.g. accruals, prepayments, project accounting), with the ability to produce clear, accurate financial reports and translate complex financial data into meaningful insights., • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards., • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail., • Experience in preparing management accounts and financial analysis., • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel., • Strong communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly., • An ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
