Key Responsibilities Include: Transport Planning & Scheduling • Create daily transport plans covering fleet vehicles and spot-hire requirements., • Optimise routes to maximise vehicle utilisation, minimise mileage, and control transport costs., • Liaise with warehouse, production, and customer service teams to align plans with product availability., • Brief and debrief drivers, ensuring they understand routes, special instructions, and customer expectations., • Ensure all transport operations meet UK legislation, including Working Time Directive, driver hours, vehicle regulations, and site safety requirements., • Provide clear and proactive communication to internal teams and customers regarding delivery status, delays, and operational issues., • Track KPI performance for OTIF, cost control, utilisation, and service levels., • Identify opportunities to improve planning efficiency and reduce transport spend., • Contribute to transport projects and support the development of planning processes and systems. Person Specification: • Experience in UK & EU transport planning, • Strong knowledge of UK geography and transport legislation, • Ability to plan routes for multi-drop, full load and time-specific deliveries, • Confident working with Microsoft Excel, • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment, • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, • A background in FMCG, manufacturing, food production or similar time-sensitive operations is desirable Additional Information: Based at the Ossett site, you’ll be part of the Supply Chain Team. Working hours are Monday-Friday, 08.30-17.00, with 1 hour lunch, however due to the nature of the business a degree of flexibility is required.
