Children’s Social Worker Team Leader – Child & Family HelpLocation: Kingston upon Thames Hours: 37 per week Rate: £44.68 UMB / £33.95 PAYEContract: 3 months initially - potential to be extendedAchieving for Children is seeking an experienced Children’s Social Worker Team Leader to join their Child and Family Help Team in Kingston upon Thames. This is an exciting leadership role within a supportive and forward-thinking service focused on early help and specialist interventions for children, young people, and families. About the Service The Child and Family Help Team sits within the Social Care and Early Help Directorate. The team works closely with partner agencies to support families, prevent concerns escalating into Child Protection services, and deliver high-quality early intervention services. The role covers families in Kingston or Richmond boroughs, with work based in offices, youth centres, or family hubs. About the Role As a Team Leader, you will manage a team of Child and Family Help Practitioners, Advanced Practitioners, and Social Workers, ensuring high-quality assessments, care plans, and interventions aligned with Achieving for Children’s practice framework. You will lead on: • Team leadership and management to deliver consistent, high-quality practice, • Quality assurance of assessments, care plans, and service delivery, • Supporting professional development and building a culture of partnership, innovation, and reflective practice, • Collaborating with partner agencies to provide seamless support for children and families, • Contributing to the strategic vision for preventative and early intervention services, • Engaging with children, young people, parents, and carers to ensure services meet their needsThis is a key role helping Achieving for Children deliver positive outcomes, reduce risk factors, and prevent escalation into specialist services.
