HIVEs across the UK and Overseas are divided into geographical teams each led by an Area HIVE Manager (AHM). We are now seeking someone to be the North Team Area HIVE Information Support Officer (AHISO) based in Colchester. You will be responsible to the AHM for running the HIVE Hub and co-ordinating the delivery of the HIVE information service across its area of responsibility (AOR), which will require regular outreach work at Army sites around the East of England. This is an opportunity to gain a good knowledge of the Army units within the HIVEs AOR, to develop an understanding of the day-to-day issues affecting the local Service Personnel, their families and wider military community, and to collaborate with those units and external organisations to meet those specific information needs. The AHISO role requires responding daily to enquiries for information in person and by phone and email, researching answers where necessary; identifying and working across the AOR with points of contact within the military and local Service and civilian agencies to maintain accurate and up-to-date information; sharing that information through the HIVEs social media platforms and physically on military sites; delivering information support at events across the AOR, such as deployment briefs or health and career fairs; signposting customers to appropriate MOD and external support agencies; and running the HIVE Hub and outreach services within the AOR on a day-to-day basis, including regular reporting of activities and statistics. Regular communication is required with the local military units, the Area HIVE Manager and wider HIVE team, HIVE customers, Local Authorities and Service and civilian welfare support organisations. The role also requires day-to-day staff management activities including recruitment, induction training, objective-setting, performance appraisal and attendance management.
