Job Title:\nEngineering Manager – Electrical Engineering\n(Control & Instrumentation) \n Location: Barrow-in-Furness –\nHybrid (dependent on business needs) \n Salary: Circa £60,000\n(Commensurate with skills and experience) \n What you’ll be\ndoing: • Support to the\nTransversal Engineering Lead Engineers, Consultants and\nsenior Consultants for the development of robust and coherent\nengineering strategies and delivery plans., • Act\nas Line Manager for PMS\nTransversal Core Employees and Contingent (Agency) Personnel.\nMentor and lead a team\nof engineers, including task management, skill development,\nand performance monitoring. Foster a collaborative and productive\nwork environment, promoting continuous learning and\nimprovement, • Responsible for coordination with\nProject Management to\nexpedite Transversal related Functional Design Process (FDP)\nactivities and deliverables., • Support an\nintegrated approach to the delivery of transversal requirements\ninto the PMS C&I Delivery organisation\n, • Coordinate Transversal specialist working groups i.e.\nSafety, Operability, Product Security, Through Life\nSupport., • Support and coordinate activities\nassociated with design, integration, demonstration and verification\nof Alerts Management\nfunctionality across engineering teams and facilities, developing\nTechnical Department Instructions in support of core\nprocesses. \n Your skills and\nexperiences: • Degree\nin relevant STEM subject or relevant Industry Experience\n, • Requires a solid and comprehensive understanding of a\nnumber of engineering disciplines. Ability to discuss and\nunderstand context and implications of technical issues across a\nnumber of engineering disciplines., • Holds\nChartered Engineer Status with an appropriate institution such as\nINCOSE, IET or IMechE., • Awareness of the\nimportance of Product Safety & Product Security to the success\nof the Dreadnought Enterprise, • Some experience\nof functional modelling of complex systems and Model Based\nSystems Engineering., • Knowledge of Submarine\nControl &\nIndication Systems including Alerts Management Solution\n, • Familiarity with Pressurised Water Reactors and\nassociated supporting systems The Platform\nManagement\nSystem C & I Team: An\nexcellent opportunity\nhas arisen for an Engineering Manager – Electrical Engineering\n(Control and Instrumentation) working within The Platform Management System (PMS) C &\nI Team. The Engineering Manager is responsible for the\nManagement and\nCoordination of PMS C&I Transversal Engineering activities to\ninclude Operability/Operations, Product Safety, Product Security\n& Information Assurance, Through Life Support. \n Reporting to the Principal Engineering Manager, the role supports the planning,\nintegration and monitoring of engineering activities and associated\ntransversal process execution across multiple engineering delivery\nteams at multiple levels of system and software design. This will\ninclude coordinating the demonstration of the integrated PMS alerts\nmanagement functional\ndesign and HCI/HMI solutions and to ensure process\nadherence.
