Registered Manager, Children’s Residential Home, Nuneaton Job Title: Registered Manager Location: Nuneaton Hours: 40 hours per week, plus participation in an on-call rota Overview We are recruiting a Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential service in Nuneaton. Key Responsibilities As Registered Manager in Nuneaton, you will: • Manage the day-to-day running of a children’s residential home in line with legislation, policies and the home’s Statement of Purpose, • Lead, motivate and develop a team of Residential Support Workers through supervision, appraisal, coaching and performance management, • Co-ordinate casework and administrative functions, monitoring quality and evaluating standards of performance, • Oversee care planning and ongoing assessment to meet the needs of children and young people, including safeguarding and promoting individual rights, • Lead recruitment, safer vetting, interviewing and induction of new staff, • Deliver and embed a staff training and development programme to maintain required skills mix and practice standards, • Liaise with internal and external professionals and commissioning teams to support admissions and ongoing placements, • Chair meetings, reviews and professional discussions as required, • Ensure medication processes and clinical practices are safe and compliant, • Manage rotas to ensure consistent, safe staffing levels, • Work within budget and follow financial and administrative procedures, • Maintain readiness for inspections and ensure documentation is accurate, complete and inspection-ready, • Promote positive, therapeutic relationships with children, families and stakeholders, • Maintain a safe environment and ensure premises repairs and maintenance are actioned promptly Requirements To be considered for this Registered Manager role in Nuneaton, you will typically have: • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards it, • Significant senior experience within a Children’s Home, with a minimum of three years’ senior experience in a social care or health setting, • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Child Protection procedures, and relevant legislation and standards, including Children’s Homes Regulations and National Minimum Standards, • Proven leadership and management capability, including staff development, rota management and quality assurance, • Confidence producing reports and communicating effectively with professionals, families and regulators, • Experience supporting inspection activity and working to meet compliance and Ofsted expectations, • Budget management awareness or experience, • Ability to travel independently Vetro Recruitment acts as an employment business when supplying temporary staff and as an employment agency when introducing candidates for permanent employment with a client.
