    Breakfast Chef Wakey Wakey Café is a vibrant and busy café in the heart of New Cross, serving all-day breakfast, brunch, and lunch. We are open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the kitchen operating until 5:00 PM. We are currently looking for an experienced and reliable Breakfast Chef to join our team on a full-time basis. Location New Cross, London SE14 6AS Working Hours • Full-time: 39–45 hours per week, • 9-hour shifts, • Day shifts only Pay • £13.00–£15.00 per hour (depending on experience), • Tips: Potential to earn an additional £100–£300 per month Key Responsibilities • Preparing and cooking breakfast, brunch, and lunch dishes to a high standard, • Cooking menu items including:, • Eggs Benedict, • Full English Breakfast, • American Breakfast, • Burgers, • Shakshuka, • Pancakes, • Sandwiches and toasted items, • Food preparation, • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen organisation, • Cleaning kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils to required standards, • Organising, storing, and rotating food items correctly (FIFO system), • Correctly dating and labelling all food items, • Carrying out and recording daily temperature checks for fridges, freezers, and cooked food, • Maintaining hygiene records and completing the kitchen hygiene logbook, • Managing allergens correctly and ensuring accurate communication of allergen information, • Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering and stock control, • Receiving deliveries and ensuring proper storage of goods, • Supporting stock management and reducing waste, • Following all food safety and health & safety procedures, • Working efficiently during busy breakfast and brunch service Essential Requirements • Valid Food Hygiene Certificate, • Valid Allergen Awareness Certificate, • Strong knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards, • Good communication skills and professional attitude, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, • Reliable, organised, and able to work under pressure Preferred Experience • Minimum 3 years of cooking experience, • Previous experience as a breakfast chef or in a busy café/brunch kitchen Additional Information • Must be able to reliably commute to London SE14 6AS or be willing to relocate, • This is an in-person role
