PE Global is currently recruiting on behalf of a leading global engineering and technology organisation for an experienced Manufacturing Technician to join their team in Barrow-in-Furness. \n \n Location: Barrow-in-Furness \n Rate: £18.00 per hour \n Contract: 6 months initially, with potential to extend based on performance \n \n This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded manufacturing professional to work within a highly skilled production environment, supporting assembly, testing, troubleshooting and process control activities across electronic, mechanical and systems-based manufacturing. \n \n Key Responsibilities \n \n\n • Perform technical duties and support projects within a designated manufacturing functional area.\n, • Carry out testing, measurements, operations and process controls in line with established procedures.\n, • Follow job packets, routings, work orders, wire lists, quality travellers and Bills of Material (BOMs).\n, • Perform production testing and assembly activities to required quality and safety standards.\n, • Maintain production tools and equipment to ensure they remain safe and fit for purpose.\n, • Troubleshoot and diagnose product, process and programme defects, carrying out repairs where required.\n, • Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.\n, • Identify components and carry out wire preparation, stripping and crimping.\n, • Perform harness repair and termination activities.\n, • Use a range of relevant manual hand tools and manufacturing equipment.\n, • Apply knowledge of electronics, hydraulics and mechanical assemblies.\n, • Support automated machine operation and programming activities where required.\n, • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives using established manufacturing systems, principles and tools.\n, • Provide technical investigation support and assist with resolving production issues.\n\n \n Key Skills & Experience \n The successful candidate will ideally have experience within a technical manufacturing, engineering or production environment, with exposure to areas such as: \n\n • Production assembly\n, • Production testing\n, • Technical investigation and fault finding\n, • Manufacturing workflows\n, • Electronics and/or electrical assembly\n, • Mechanical assemblies\n, • Hydraulics\n, • Wire preparation, stripping and crimping\n, • Harness assembly, repair and termination\n, • Reading engineering drawings and blueprints\n, • Use of hand tools and production equipment\n, • Automated machinery operation and/or programming\n\n \n Working Hours & Rates \n Standard Day Shift – £18.00 per hour \n\n • Monday–Thursday: 07:00–15:45\n, • Friday: 07:00–11:30\n\n Overtime \n\n • Monday–Saturday overtime: 1.5× hourly rate\n, • Sundays and Public Holidays: 2× hourly rate\n\n Backshift \n\n • Monday–Thursday: 15:45–00:45\n, • 20% backshift uplift\n, • Backshift overtime paid at 1.5× hourly rate\n\n \n *Please note our client cannot assist with any visa sponsorship and candidates must have the correct visa to live and work in UK* \n \n Interested candidates should submit an updated CV. \n Please click the link below to apply.
