The Opportunity: We are seeking a motivated and detail‑driven Finance Officer to support the financial health and governance of the business across projects and operations. Reporting to the Head of Projects, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, strengthening financial controls, and providing meaningful financial insight to support decision‑making. This role also includes line management responsibility for the Finance Administrator, offering an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their leadership skills within a collaborative, project‑focused environment. Key Responsibilities: As a Finance Officer, you will play a critical role within our Rugby team. Your responsibilities will include: • Maintain accurate financial records across projects and business operations, • Support month‑end processes, audits and compliance with financial policies and accounting standards, • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, debtors and support debt management activities, • Support project managers with cost‑to‑complete, WIP, margin tracking and financial insight, • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cost control and variance reporting, • Process and reconcile accounts payable, receivable, supplier statements and credit cards, • Manage supplier payment runs, expense approvals and purchasing activities (POs, suppliers, compliance records), • Support payroll processing, expense checks and HR‑related finance activities, • Provide line management to the Finance Administrator, including workload planning, performance management and development, • Act as escalation point for finance or compliance issues, • Drive continuous improvement, automation and strengthening of finance controls Your skills and experiences: Essential: • Experience in a finance, accounts or finance operations role, • Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations, • High level of accuracy with excellent attention to detail, • Strong organisational and time‑management skills, • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, • Experience in a project‑based, engineering or technical environment, • Familiarity with purchase order systems and job costing, • Exposure to budgeting, forecasting or management accounts, • Previous experience managing or supervising staff Benefits: As a valued member of our team, you’ll receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes: • Contributory salary sacrifice pension scheme, • Life insurance (4x your salary), • Enhanced annual leave entitlement, in addition to bank holidays, • Company-funded gym subsidy payments, • Free 24/7 remote GP service and other health support benefits, • Employee referral program, • Long service recognition awards, • Paid maternity and paternity leave, • Access to free Electric/ Hybrid vehicle charging points and free onsite parking Additionally, you'll have access to a wide range of supplementary benefits, including: • Employee Assistance Programme, • Extensive professional development through our in-house training academy, • Career-enhancing training events, • Exclusive employee discounts and various concessions via our corporate perks platform Why Quartzelec?
