Position: Electronic Engineer Location: Chesterfield The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electronic Engineer to join an established and growing business based in Chesterfield. Our client designs, develops, and manufactures a range of electronic devices used across the UK and Europe. This position is suited to an Electronic Engineer with a relevant degree qualification and demonstrable industry experience in a similar role. You will be involved in the full development of electronic products, working across electronics design including PCB design, mixed-signal circuits, embedded programming in C, and microcontroller-based systems. You will work as part of a small, offering significant variety in your day-to-day responsibilities and the opportunity to work closely with a small design team. This role will suit someone with strong attention to detail who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, product development environment. Essential Skills & Experience • Relevant degree in Electronic Engineering or similar discipline, • Industry experience within an electronics design environment, • Strong understanding of communication protocols, including SPI, UART, and I²C, • Proficient in PCB layout and schematic design using Altium Designer, • Embedded C programming, • Hands-on hardware-level experience with STM32 and ESP32 microcontrollers, • Experience with circuit prototyping, testing, and debugging, • Skilled in the use of test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, • Familiarity with manufacturing techniques, design for manufacture (DFM), and EMC compliance requirements Desirable Experience • Mechanical design experience, ideally using SolidWorks, • Design experience for injection moulding / vacuum forming, • Experience working with Zigbee RF modules, • Writing applications for Raspberry Pi using Python, • Design experience with high-power LED devices and constant current circuits Personal Attributes • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and issues, • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines, • Enthusiastic, highly self-motivated, and proactive, • Logical yet creative mindset with a desire to innovate, learn, and develop, • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities If you are keen to build your career within a new product development-focused business that is a leader in its industry, please contact Laurence Powell at KO2 Embedded Recruitment Solutions for further details.
