Requirements: As a result of their continued success, our client is looking to strengthen their Transport Team and requires a Transport Supervisor. The Transport Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that the correct quantities of products are delivered to their prestigious clientele. All products must be delivered to the required location within the given time limit, and as a result, the Transport Supervisor must effectively organise and maintain the fleet while supervising drivers and ensuring they are compliant with company rules Flexibility and willingness to go the extra mile to support the business are key requirements for this role. Experience in FMCG, ideally from a food company, especially in fleet and stock management, is highly desirable. Tasks Include: • As the Transport Supervisor, you will be responsible for Transport personnel, monitoring driver progress and being their first point of contact for all drivers relating to the vehicle needs., • Ensure that all drivers have the necessary tools, paperwork and goods to carry out their roles and make deliveries. This may include, but is not limited to, changing tyres, replacing bulbs, fixing sack barrows, and cleaning Vehicles., • Ensure that all drivers are in full and proper uniform – any non-conformities must be handled efficiently by informing the person to change and reporting it to the transport Manager., • Build relationships with the wider business departments, as well as customer relationships, managing questions and complaints calmly and decisively., • Ensure all equipment is allocated to the correct person in the correct vehicle., • The Transport Supervisor is responsible for organising and overseeing all health and safety checks and routine vehicle checks, and adhering to both company and statutory requirements., • Providing a full daily handover to the AM/PM Transport Supervisor and Transport Manager, • Auditing all equipment daily, ensuring all items come back every day., • Daily Vehicle checks to be done as vehicles arrive., • Be involved in strategic development and the maintenance of any administrative records, regularly communicating with the Transport Manager to ensure a smooth operation is maintained., • You must also be aware of all transport legislation and procedures to ensure company compliance., • During busy periods, you may be required to step in and assist the transport supervisors, which may include but not be limited to loading/unloading vehicles, making deliveries, answering calls, assisting drivers’ needs, and booking in/ out drivers at the end of a shift., • Keep yard and bay areas tidy and safe (remove debris, manage spill response escalation)., • Suggest improvements to reduce turnaround time and improve safety and efficiency. Required Attributes: • Robust knowledge and understanding of all areas of the supply chain, budgets and financial controls, legislation and relevant fleet controls, • You must be able to efficiently work within a high-volume transport operation, • An all-round people person with the ability challenge underperforming staff and take necessary action, • Reinforce departmental rules and structure at all times and discipline staff as and when required, • Strong communication and people management skills, being able to cultivate strong business relationships on multiple levels, • A sound understanding of basic numeracy is required for this position, which requires involvement in managing budgets and the calculation of weights and measures., • Due to the high level of machinery and the importance of time constraints, the Transport Supervisor/Marshal must also be safety conscious with a full knowledge of the transport operations and maintenance and be detail conscious with regards to the vehicles themselves and route planning., • Must hold a UK Driving License, no more than 6 points and be confident driving 3.5 / 7.5 / 12 tonne Vehicles, • Good attention to & eye for detail, whilst being able to cope with the demands of a fast-paced and changing business, • Effective team player, as well as having the ability to work on one's own initiative, • Good practical knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages, including Excel, Word and ERP Data systems, • Ability to multitask and manage the department in the absence of a Senior Manager, • Flexibility to work weekends and Bank Holidays to support the business The hours are 11 pm – 8 am – 6 days per week from Sunday to Friday. Youll be responsible for day-to-day maintenance in void properties, applying technical expertise across three or more trades to deliver high-quality results. Youll play a vital role in minimising void rent loss by adhering to void standards, ensuring properties are hazard-free, and completing works efficiently and effectively. Youll be based out of our Head Office in High Wycombe and our Stores Room in Chesham for equipment, property packs, and team briefings.
