Internal Sales & Technical Advisor Location: Braintree, Essex Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Main Purpose of the Role Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Internal Sales & Technical Advisor on behalf of our client, a well-established and fast-paced hydraulics business based in Braintree. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you will be responsible for handling incoming enquiries, supporting customers both over the phone and face-to-face, and providing technical advice on hydraulic components and solutions. This position would suit someone with experience in internal sales, trade counter sales, or parts sales, ideally within hydraulics or a related engineering/industrial environment. Roles & Responsibilities • Handle incoming sales enquiries via phone, email, and in person, • Serve and support customers visiting the trade counter, • Prepare and issue quotations in a timely and accurate manner, • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships, • Manage and grow a portfolio of customer accounts, • Advise customers on suitable hydraulic components and solutions, • Identify parts and respond to technical product queries, • Liaise with suppliers to source products and obtain pricing, • Negotiate pricing while maintaining healthy profit margins, • Maintain accurate records using internal systems, • Work collaboratively with the wider team to support daily operations Additional Responsibilities • Support the day-to-day running of the sales function, • Ensure high levels of customer service are consistently delivered, • Keep up to date with product knowledge and industry developments, • Assist with stock-related queries and product sourcing, • Contribute to overall business growth through strong customer engagement Experience / Skills / Qualifications • Previous experience within internal sales, trade counter, or parts sales, • Exposure to hydraulics, pneumatics, engineering supplies, or similar industries (desirable), • Strong communication and customer service skills, • Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships, • Comfortable handling technical product queries (or willingness to learn), • Good commercial awareness, including pricing and margin management, • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, • Proactive and solution-focused approach Working Pattern & Benefits Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 5:30pm One Saturday per month: 8:00am – 12:00pm Office-based role Salary: £33,000 – £38,000 (depending on experience) Opportunity to join a growing and well-established business Training and development within a specialist industry Company Disclaimer Market 36 Recruitment Ltd cover a range of sectors including Commercial, Industrial, Engineering, HR & Finance and IT.
