I am a 23 year old, chatty and friendly young man with Muscular Dystrophy and a full time electric wheelchair user. I am looking for a reliable, dedicated person to support me to attend work for approximately 29-32 hours per week. Days required are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and hours are generally between 9.30 – 5.30 with slight variations each day. These hours apply during term time, altnerative varied hours can be offered during non term time. I am based in East Peckham (Kent) and work in Orpington, so you must be able to get to my home base easily. The role will require you to drive my WAV van, so a full clean driving licence is essential, and you will need to be over 25 due to insurance restrictions. There may also be an opportunity to work additional hours on a Wednesday evening or at a weekend to support me to attend social activities. I will need you to be able to support me with any tasks I need whilst at work (I will direct as necessary) and this will require you to attend my personal care needs, as required. Previous experience of care would be beneficial, specifically supporting a wheelchair user, however full training will be given to suit my particular circumstances.
