Transport Planner /SHUNTER (TRAINING PROVIDED) Location: Doncaster, DN3 Salary: Up to £37,500 per annum Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Role We are seeking an experienced and proactive Transport Planner Coordinator / SHUNTER (TRAINING PROVIDED) to join our busy logistics operation based in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity for a transport professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys coordinating complex transport activities while ensuring exceptional service levels. Working on a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, you will play a key role in the planning, coordination, and execution of daily transport operations, ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely, efficiently, and on time. Shift Pattern • 4 days on, 4 days off, • 5:00am 5:30pm, • 1 hour lunch break (30 minutes unpaid and 30 minutes paid)Key Responsibilities, • Execute daily and weekly transport plans for company vehicles and third-party logistics providers., • Work closely with Transport and Operations Managers to ensure transport plans are achievable and delivered efficiently., • Coordinate with the Sales Team to ensure customer deliveries are completed on time and in full., • Monitor company vehicles using tracking software and report delays, incidents, or issues promptly., • Take loads to other sites on a weekend (when rotad on), • Communicate collection and delivery progress to internal teams., • Produce accurate delivery and collection documentation using company software and ensure signed paperwork is returned and processed correctly., • Manage the booking in and out of company and third-party vehicles on site., • Conduct driver briefings and debriefings at the start and end of shifts., • Utilise ERP systems to support transport and operational processes., • Ensure compliance with drivers' hours regulations and Department for Transport requirements., • Download and manage driver and vehicle tachograph data., • Support vehicle maintenance scheduling and report defects to the Maintenance Manager., • Carry out yard shunting activities and prepare trailers for upcoming deliveries., • Respond effectively to operational issues and resolve problems as they arise.About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Essential Requirements • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Transport Coordinator, Transport Planner, or similar logistics role., • Strong understanding of transport planning, logistics, and supply chain operations., • Experience using ERP systems (minimum 1 year)., • HGV Class 1 Licence., • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills., • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal., • Ability to work independently and use initiative., • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure., • Right to work in the United Kingdom.Benefits, • Competitive salary of £37,500 per year, • Company pension scheme, • Free on-site parking, • Casual dress, • Stable full-time, permanent position, • Opportunity for career development within a growing businessApply Today If you have a strong background in transport coordination, hold a Class 1 HGV licence, and are looking for a challenging and rewarding role within a dynamic logistics operation, we'd love to hear from you.
