Quantity Surveyor Bolton Competitive Salary Overview We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our clients growing commercial team supporting the successful delivery of complex engineering and construction projects. This role will see you manage the full commercial lifecycle of projects, from tender support through to final account settlement. You will play a key role in protecting commercial performance, managing contractual obligations, and maximising project value while ensuring quality and compliance standards are met. Working closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, and clients, you will be a vital part of ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with contractual requirements. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in delivering high-value projects while developing their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. Key Responsibilities: • Manage all commercial aspects of projects from tender stage through to final account settlement, • Monitor project programmes to identify delays and ensure entitlement to time and contractual protections, • Administer contract variations and change control, ensuring timely notices and agreements with clients and subcontractors, • Maintain full contract documentation including payment applications, variations, notices, and quotations, • Prepare and submit interim applications for payment, • Analyse payment notices and monitor cash receipts, • Manage cost control, income, and expenditure across projects, • Support recovery of outstanding payments and resolution of financial exceptions, • Produce monthly commercial reports including: Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR), Cashflow forecasts, Cost-to-complete analysis, Work in Progress (WIP), Risk and opportunity registers and Earned value analysis, • Work closely with Project Managers to support the successful commercial delivery of projects, • Attend contract handover, progress, and review meetings, • Present commercial updates during monthly CVR meetings, • Develop strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, • Subcontractor & Procurement Management, • Support the procurement and management of subcontractors, • Ensure subcontracts are correctly let and commercially controlled, • Manage subcontractor accounts including measurement cycles, certificates, and accruals, • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and legislative requirements, • Ensure commercial activities align with the overall commercial strategy, • Maintain accurate project records, WBS structures, and documentation, • Identify and escalate potential risks or issues early, • Minimum 5 years’ experience within a main contractor or project delivery environment, • HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent), • Strong commercial understanding of JCT, NEC, or IChemE contracts, • Experience managing subcontract procurement and commercial performance, • Proven experience with:, • Interim applications and payment processes, • Contract variations and claims, • Final account negotiation, • Strong understanding of earned value analysis and monthly commercial reporting, • Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills, • High level of organisation and time management, able to meet tight deadlines, • Proficient in Microsoft Office, • Membership of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or working towards chartership, • CSCS Card, • Strong ability to build productive relationships across stakeholder groups
