Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Lead Quantity Surveyor for our client based in Central Scotland. Role Overview: This is a senior-level opportunity for a commercially astute and ambitious Lead Quantity Surveyor to join a growing team. Based primarily in the office with travel to sites mainly across Glasgow and occasionally Edinburgh, this role supports a series of long-term contracts, some up to 10 years, within the social housing sector. As part of a close-knit commercial team of five, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in mentoring trainees, maintaining client relationships, and driving financial performance. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and mentor a small team of surveyors and trainees, providing guidance and support., • Oversee commercial delivery of reactive maintenance and void refurbishment contracts., • Prepare and manage accurate cost forecasts, CVRs, WIP, and monthly valuations., • Ensure projects meet financial targets, identifying and mitigating commercial risks., • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and internal teams., • Support the tender process and ensure commercially sound project delivery., • Champion best practice and continuous improvement within the team. Skills & Experience: • Experience in a Quantity Surveying role, within social housing essential., • Proven expertise in managing reactive and void maintenance projects., • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying (BSc Hons)., • Strong commercial acumen, with excellent negotiation and financial reporting skills., • Experience working with NEC, JCT, or SBCC forms of contract (advantageous)., • Confident communicator, able to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues., • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and internal field management systems., • Full UK driving licence.
