Job Description Facilities Technician in a Data Center Job Description As a Facilities Technician, you will ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems for the assigned properties. Your primary responsibilities include maintaining a clean and safe working environment, performing rounds, conducting routine assessments, and executing preventive and corrective maintenance for building systems. Additionally, you will support general maintenance technician duties, assist with minor repairs, and perform day-to-day building maintenance tasks as needed. Responsibilities • Perform plumbing, electrical, and HVAC maintenance requirements for the building., • Maintain heating equipment, chillers, DX units, pumps, cooling towers, fan coil units, VAV systems, and air distribution systems., • Monitor and adjust mechanical/pneumatic equipment, steam stations, control gauges, distributor panels, valves, thermostats, diffusers, and related systems., • Verify field conditions and perform necessary repairs or adjustments., • Monitor and support energy management systems., • Perform general building repairs, including doors, ceilings, hand railings, flooring, painting, and minor construction tasks., • Repair plumbing fixtures such as water closets, urinals, flush valve assemblies, and lavatories., • Conduct preventive maintenance in accordance with standards, manufacturer recommendations, and industry best practices., • Inspect engine room equipment, fan rooms, cooling towers, pumps, generators, electrical rooms, and related infrastructure., • Replace lamps and light fixtures, reinstall signage, and ensure equipment rooms remain clean and accessible., • Verify proper operation of emergency lighting and exit signage, and maintain safe access to emergency egress routes., • Conduct fire and life safety inspections in accordance with NFPA, local jurisdiction requirements, and company standards., • Document maintenance activity and report findings to supervisors., • Respond to emergencies, including fire alarms, evacuations, equipment failures, and urgent building issues., • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company safety policies., • Facilities maintenance, • Quality engineering, • HVAC, • Plumbing, • Electrical, • UPS systems, • Battery backup, • Troubleshooting, • General facilities maintenance, • HVAC maintenance, • Chillers, • Boilers, • DX Units, • Pumps, • Cooling towers, • RTU's, • Fan coil, • VAV Systems, • Steam Stations, • Technical proficiency, • Initiative, • Flexibility, • Ability to multitask This role offers a stable Monday to Friday schedule with shifts from either 7-4 or 8-5, allowing for a consistent work-life balance. You will have the opportunity to work across two diverse properties, including a warehouse setting. The company provides a supportive work environment, focusing on professional growth and development. Work Environment This position operates within a professional office environment and building mechanical spaces. You will utilize standard office technology and will need to move throughout the property and between mechanical spaces, adapting to varying weather conditions. A professional appearance is maintained in accordance with the uniform dress code. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
