Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Business Development Representative II – SMB Payments Location: Plano, TX (100% Onsite) Duration: 6-Month Contract to Perm Pay Rate: $40-$53/hr (W2) - Experience based IMPORTANT ROLE CLARIFICATION • Two openings available – responsibilities are similar, • One role requires Korean & English bilingual fluency, • One role is English-only, • Merchant Services Sales position supporting the Northeast Business Banking region, • Candidates must be comfortable working onsite in Plano, TX while supporting Northeast clients (8:00 AM hard start) About the Role Join JPMorgan Chase Small Business (SMB) Payments team as a Business Development Representative II focused on Merchant Services sales. This is a relationship-based sales role where you will partner directly with Business Bankers who manage an existing book of clients. Rather than traditional cold calling, you will collaborate with bankers to develop and execute sales strategies that introduce merchant services solutions to their portfolio clients. The primary product offering includes: • Credit card processing solutions, • Credit card readers and supporting payment technology Merchant services experience is not required. The team is open to training candidates with strong sales or account management backgrounds. Key Responsibilities • Partner with Business Bankers to identify merchant services opportunities within their existing client portfolios, • Collaborate on sales strategy rather than independently cold-calling prospects, • Present and position credit card processing solutions and payment technologies, • Offer tailored POS solutions in partnership with third-party providers, • Negotiate pricing structures and close merchant agreements, • Maintain accurate sales documentation and pipeline tracking, • Support product implementation and 3-month ramp period for new accounts, • Adhere to risk management, compliance, AML/KYC, and internal quality standards, • Build strong internal relationships across Credit, Risk, and Quality Control teams Performance Metrics Sales performance is measured annually and structured as: • 40% – Achieve Volume Goals, • 40% – Achieve Revenue Goals, • 20% – Achieve Contract Goals, • Target of 1 approved POS sale per month (ideally), • One annual bonus (no monthly commission structure), • 3-month ramping period Schedule & Work Environment • 100% Onsite – Plano, TX, • 40-hour work week, • 8:00 AM hard start time (supporting Northeast clients), • Option to begin as early as 7:00 AM if preferred, • Performance-based, collaborative sales culture Required Qualifications • Minimum 2+ years of sales or account management experience, • Strong relationship-building skills, • Coachable and open to structured sales processes, • Motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable with performance metrics, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), • Ability to balance client needs with regulatory and firm requirements Preferred Qualifications • 5+ years of business development experience, • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field (or equivalent experience), • Bilingual Korean & English (for designated role) Interview Process • 3 total rounds, • First interview with Luciel, • All interviews conducted via Zoom Candidate Preparation Recommendation Candidates are strongly encouraged to research: • The payments and merchant services industry, • Credit card processing models, • POS technology solutions, • Key competitors in the space Ideal Candidate Profile We are seeking professionals who are: • Coachable and open to feedback, • Motivated by performance goals, • Relationship-driven rather than cold-call focused, • Comfortable partnering closely with bankers, • Interested in building a long-term career in merchant services
