Job DescriptionStaff AccountantLocation: Woodway, TX area Employment Type: Full-Time Work Schedule: Monday–Friday | In-office Job Type: Temp-to HireSalary: $60-65,000/year Position SummaryWe are recruiting on behalf of one of our client companies for a Staff Accountant to support financial operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting GAAP-compliant reporting, assisting with cost and inventory accounting, and contributing to effective internal controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working cross-functionally with operations and management. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Accounting • Prepare and maintain profit and loss statements and balance sheet schedules for review, • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, • Support GAAP-compliant revenue recognition and cost of goods sold (COGS) tracking, • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisCash Flow & Banking, • Monitor and support daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow forecasting, • Assist with vendor payment review and coordination with accounts payable, • Support inter-account transfers to align with cash flow needs, • Escalate unusual or high-dollar transactions as appropriateTax & Compliance, • Assist with preparation and filing of sales, use, and property tax returns, • Support internal and external audits by gathering required documentation, • Ensure compliance with GAAP standards, company policies, and internal controlsInventory & Cost Accounting, • Support inventory valuation for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, • Assist with cost analysis to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities, • Collaborate with operations to strengthen inventory controls and cost trackingProcess Improvement & Controls, • Assist in developing and maintaining internal accounting controls, • Identify opportunities to improve accounting accuracy, efficiency, and compliance, • Support procurement and purchase requisition budget complianceAdditional Duties, • Perform other accounting or administrative duties as assignedQualificationsEducation & Experience, • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required, • Minimum of 2 years of progressive accounting experience preferred, • Manufacturing or industrial accounting experience strongly preferredSkills & Knowledge, • Working knowledge of GAAP principles, • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel required) and accounting software, • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally, • Ability to work independently with minimal supervisionPreferred Qualifications, • CPA or CMA certification, or interest in pursuing licensure, • Experience with cost accounting and inventory management, • Spanish language proficiency is a plus but not requiredWork Environment, • In-office position within a manufacturing or industrial setting
