RWJBarnabas Health, the largest integrated healthcare system in New Jersey, is seeking a Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our team at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus. Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus (MMCSC), located in Lakewood, is a fully accredited 241 bed acute care hospital dedicated to providing high-quality health care services to the residents of Ocean and Monmouth counties. Lakewood is a rapidly growing, vibrant community in Ocean County surrounded by beautiful suburban towns that are ideal for families! It is also situated adjacent to the famous Jersey Shore beaches, a popular spot for recreation, shopping, and exploring towns with modern residential condominiums and award-winning local restaurants. This is an excellent opportunity for an eager APP to join a well-established, multidisciplinary team that aims to provide high-level care at a community hospital and become a part of the Critical Care Service Line at RWJBarnabas Health. About the Position: • Obtains and records patient history., • Performs physical and medical screening examinations., • Completes diagnostic and therapeutic studies., • Orders diagnostic laboratory tests, radiological studies or other therapies as appropriate., • Establishes diagnostic decision-making and initiates a treatment plan, which may include ordering medications, additional therapeutic modalities, etc., • Coordinates patient care with other members of the health care team. Initiates consultation requests to other health professionals to provide more comprehensive patient management., • Instructs and counsels patients regarding mental and physical health, referring patients to appropriate specialists/resources., • Completes charting in a thorough and timely manner., • Adequately manages patient flow in the ICU., • Performs procedures as allowed by state law and under the direction of the supervising or collaborating physician., • Works within legal, regulatory, and ethical practice standards., • Actively participates in department staff meetings and risk management education., • Completes required courses, i.e. HIPAA, EMTALA and other CME/CEU requirements., • Physician Assistant Certification., • Master’s Degree in Nursing., • NP Certification., • Registered Professional Nurse with current NJ state license; CDS and DEA., • Prior work experience as a professional nurse., • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ACLS) Certifications, PALS (if required)., • Active membership in a professional organization preferred., • Ability and willingness accommodate scheduling needs including working extended hours, weekdays, overnights, weekends, and holidays., • 1-2 years of critical care experience., • Medical and broad based clinical emergency medicine knowledge., • Strong verbal and written communication skills., • Excellent time management skills., • Direct employment, • Competitive compensation, • 401k/Retirement plan, • Malpractice insurance To learn more about this position, please contact: Richard “RJ” Schaller, APP Recruiter, directly via e-mail:
