As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Research Scientist) you will lead applied research to develop next-generation fraud detection models across complex data modalities, including relational graphs, sequential events, images, and video. You will design and run rigorous experiments and build evaluation methodologies that reflect real-world fraud dynamics, prototype state-of-the-art architectures such as Graph Neural Networks and Transformer-based foundation models, and partner closely with Machine Learning Engineers to translate successful research into production systems. Recovery goals and treatment length are defined by the client, not the program. Many clients have a sustained and/or complicated substance use history in addition to co-occurring mental health and physical disorders. Often people experiencing mental health issues, complex trauma, and health issues who lack access to proper treatment attempt to self-medicate with substances to lessen the symptoms. The ability to provide highly integrated services to people with concurrent mental health, substance use, and physical diagnoses are crucial components of our care. At DESC, our network of clinical services allows SUDPs/SUDPTs to work in coordination with care teams throughout the agency. This role will also partner with DESC’s MOUD program called ORCA POD. Care team members often include peers, mental health case managers, clinical support specialists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, nurses and supportive employment staff. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Perform substance use disorder assessments, intake evaluations, individual and group therapy, create Individual Service Plans (ISP) with clients, care coordination within and outside of DESC., • Participate in weekly supervision (with direct supervisor) and team meetings (both SUD and ORCA POD). POSITION SUMMARY: The international Corps Member position with EarthCorps is a 6-month service-learning experience for non-U.S. citizens, which takes place in Seattle, Washington, USA. Young environmental leaders from countries outside the United States will join US AmeriCorps Members to develop skills in environmental service, community building and leadership. This is not a classroom, internship, or workshop. This is a hands-on experiential education program for people to practice technical restoration of local habitats. Corps Members spend 80% of their time in the field engaged in environmental restoration projects throughout the Puget Sound region of Washington State. Restoration is physically demanding and takes place outdoors in all weather conditions. International Corps Members will serve on crews of 5-7 members with Americans led by an EarthCorps crew leader. Crew members will make a difference on the land through on-the-ground restoration projects throughout Western Washington. In 2025 most organized camping trips were done in a front country (non-wilderness) setting. Typical duration of these trips is 3-4 nights, with the potential for a 10- day trip as well.
