Job DescriptionAbout us: Palos Verdes Golf Club is a private club located in the middle of an 800-acre parkland preserve overlooking Santa Monica Bay with ocean views visible from several holes. Established in 1924, the golf course has long been referred to as "a hidden gem" and the clubhouse is a designated historical building by the Palos Verdes Historical Society. Benefits: • Vacation & Paid Sick Leave, • Medical, Dental, Vision, EAP, and Life Insurance, • 401k with Club Match, • Holiday Pay, • Employee Meals Daily, • Employee Discounts on Food and Merchandise, • Eligible for Club Scholarship program, • Employee referral program, • Approach all interaction with Members, guests, and colleagues in a courteous, service-oriented manner, • Remain attentive, friendly, helpful, courteous, and respectful to Members, guests, managers and fellow employees at all times, • Monitor building security by locking doors after operating hours, • Monitor building safety by checking electrical appliances used to ensure that hazards are not created, • Maintain cleanliness of all Clubhouse areas, • Check carpet, tables, chairs, window ledges, window panes, wall, and vents for dust, debris, stains etc. and thoroughly clean daily and/or as needed, • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment; clean and polish furniture and fixtures, • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees; ensure windows remain free from hand prints and smudges, • Inspect, service, clean, and supply all restrooms daily and as needed, • Gather and empty trash from all Clubhouse trash bins, including administrative offices, • Remove stains from fabric, upholstered furniture, and carpet, • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and/or vacuuming, • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors, • Sand, stain, and/or paint furniture, • Paint walls or other structural surfaces, • Launder towels and other items as needed, • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures, • Mix water and detergents or acids in containers according to specifications to prepare cleaning solutions; mix paint, ingredients, or chemicals, according to specifications, • Maintain clean and organized Storage Room and Maintenance office, • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems, • Refer Member or guest problems or complaints to management as soon as possible, • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties, • Attend trainings and All Staff Meetings as required/requested, • Excellent verbal communication, organizational, and follow-through skills, • Ability to read, and comprehend memos, correspondence, and special instructions, • Friendly, punctual, and proactive, • High level of client services, professionalism, and attention to detail; professional appearance appropriate for a premier country club, • Problem solving, reasoning, and "thinking out of the box"; ability to apply common sense understanding to better serve our internal and external guests' needs, • Ability to read, comprehend, and abide by the rules of the PVGC Employee Handbook, • Minimum two years' related experience Please: No phone calls or walk-ins.
