Job Description Job Title: Technical Trainer – Commercial Jet Engine Maintenance (CFM56 / V2500, MRO) If qualified, reach out to Emma at 843 972 1999 Job Description This role delivers high-quality technical training in a commercial aviation Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) environment, with a strong focus on CFM56 and V2500 engine modules and core maintenance fundamentals. The technical trainer ensures that maintenance technicians gain the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to perform engine maintenance, repair and exchange (MRE) activities in line with operational, regulatory, and safety standards. Responsibilities • Deliver and facilitate classroom instruction, workshops, and hands-on technical training focused on engine components, engine modules, and core maintenance fundamentals for CFM56 and V2500 engines., • Prepare and manage the training environment so that tools, equipment, materials, and safety practices accurately reflect operational shop floor conditions in an MRO setting., • Develop and refine training content and learning materials that support technician development in engine maintenance, repair, inspection, and troubleshooting., • Administer technical assessments and readiness evaluations to measure trainee knowledge, skills, and performance against established criteria., • Monitor trainee progress along defined learning paths, identify competency gaps, and provide targeted coaching, feedback, and corrective guidance., • Validate technician competency in both theoretical knowledge and practical application, providing objective final sign-off for module qualification readiness., • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records, assessment results, and trainee evaluations in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory expectations., • Promote adherence to FAA regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements throughout all training activities., • Incorporate Safety Management Systems (SMS), Human Factors principles, and AS9110-related practices into training sessions where applicable., • 3+ years of experience in training development and delivery, preferably in an FAA Part 145 or aviation maintenance environment., • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, particularly Part 145, and how they apply to maintenance and training activities., • Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) certification., • Hands-on experience working in a repair station or MRO environment., • Familiarity with CFM56 engines and their maintenance, repair, and inspection requirements., • Experience training or teaching technicians in engine maintenance tasks, including practical on-the-job instruction., • Knowledge of aircraft engine maintenance, including engine repair, aircraft maintenance practices, airframe and powerplant systems, and engine inspection., • Ability to teach and support troubleshooting of engine and aircraft systems in a structured training setting., • Understanding of FAA compliance requirements related to engine and aircraft maintenance., • Familiarity with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Human Factors training concepts and their application in aviation maintenance., • Knowledge of AS9110 standards and their relevance to aviation maintenance quality systems., • Experience with CFM engines beyond CFM56 and exposure to broader aircraft engine platforms., • Experience in engine MRE (Maintenance, Repair and Exchange) operations for commercial jet engines., • Ability to design, update, and improve training curricula and learning paths based on trainee performance and operational feedback., • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple training sessions, assessments, and records concurrently. Work Environment The role is based in large, dedicated MRO facilities in the Miami area, including a main MRO site near MIA, an expansion MRO facility in Medley, and an engine test cell in Medley. The environment reflects an operational aviation maintenance shop floor, with engine modules, tools, test equipment, and support systems consistent with commercial jet engine MRO operations. Multiple shifts are available, offering flexibility across various schedules. Typical MRO shifts include 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday. Engine test cell shifts include 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and a Friday–Sunday shift from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The facilities are designed for safety, efficiency, and comfort, with a strong emphasis on maintaining a clean, organized, and professional work setting aligned with aviation maintenance standards.
