Job DescriptionJob Title: Production Supervisor Job Description We are seeking a dynamic Production Supervisor who will lead and manage daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment. You will drive safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance, leading teams to success while managing change and ambiguity. Responsibilities • Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations and adjust plans as needed., • Drive safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance., • Lead teams, manage performance, resolve conflict, and drive accountability., • Oversee production, quality inspections, problem-solving, and built-in quality initiatives., • Train, develop, and evaluate hourly team members., • Build and sustain high-performing teams., • Motivate employees using standardized work methods., • Ensure team members receive adequate Job Instruction Training (JIT)., • Coach, counsel, and mentor other Group Leaders., • Lead and support Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes., • Serve as a resource for launch and pilot activities., • Meet or exceed production, cost, and schedule objectives., • Apply lean and synchronous manufacturing principles., • Implement systems that prevent recurrence of known issues., • Maintain awareness of quality standards and expectations., • Ensure all processes meet required quality standards., • Understand and consistently administer National and Local UAW Agreements., • Promote and enforce safe work practices., • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workplace., • Ensure effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment., • Support continuous improvement in material flow and supply chain efficiency., • Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions.Essential Skills, • High School Diploma or equivalent., • Experience leading teams in a manufacturing, production, or supply chain environment (2+ years)., • Basic computer skills including email and word processing., • Willingness to work rotating shifts and weekends., • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, develop, and evaluate hourly employees., • Strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and variation reduction., • Experience meeting production schedules, cost targets, and quality requirements., • Ability to promote and enforce safe work practices.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • An associate or bachelor's degree is preferred but not required., • UAW experience is ideal, but not mandatory., • Familiarity with Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) or similar operating systems., • Prior experience supporting launch or pilot production activities., • Experience in automotive manufacturing or high-volume production environments., • Knowledge of built-in quality initiatives, DFSS/Red X certification., • Knowledge of timekeeping systems.Why Work Here? Be prepared for weekend work as part of rotating schedules. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Buffalo, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
