Job Description Position Summary: The Financial Aid Counselor will assist prospective students and current students in understanding and securing financial aid options. This role is vital in ensuring compliance with federal regulations and maintaining high standards of customer service. Key Responsibilities: -Advise Students and families on available federal and state aid programs, including Pell Grants and Direct Loans -Guide students through FAFSA completion, verification, and award processes. -Manage student files and ensure timely packaging and disbursement of aid. -Maintain accurate records in compliance with U.S. Department of Education regulations and clock hour program rules. -Collaborate with admissions, bursar, owner and compliance departments to support student success. -Monitor satisfactory academic progress (SAP) and communicate with students regarding eligibility. -Participate in audits and help prepare necessary documentation. Qualifications: -Minimum 1-2 years of experience in federal student aid administration OR -Minimum 4-5 years of experience in school administration or a related field. -Strong working knowledge of Title IV programs and financial aid regulations preferred. -Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. -Familiarity with clock hour programs is a plus. -Experience with student information systems (e.g. FAME, Freedom and Financial Aid Software) is a plus. Job Description 40 hours a week for Full Time positions and 13 hours for the week for Part Time positions--with the potential for additional hours if desired. Both schedules do require some flexibility. Availability would need to range anywhere from Monday-Friday 8:30AM-4:30PM with some evening availability on Monday's, 4PM-9PM, and Saturday availability 8:15AM-4:30PM. This does not mean that you will be scheduled for every single day, every single evening and every Saturday, it just means that the schedule can range throughout the week with any combination of these hours.
