Job Description Job Title: Mechanical and Electrical Assembler (Automotive) Job Description Join our team as a Mechanical and Electrical Assembler, where you will play a crucial role in installing and assembling various mechanical and electrical components. This position involves working with cutting-edge tools and technologies to ensure the precise alignment and functionality of components, contributing to the production of high-quality products. Responsibilities • Install mechanical components such as brackets, suspension and steering components, doors, seating systems, HVAC units, fasteners, and hardware., • Perform torque-controlled fastening using calibrated tools., • Align and fit components to meet dimensional and functional requirements., • Identify and report fitment issues, damaged parts, or drawing discrepancies., • Route, secure, and terminate electrical wiring and cable harnesses., • Install electrical components including switches, lighting, displays, sensors, batteries, and control modules., • Perform crimping, stripping, and connector installation in accordance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 or equivalent standards., • Conduct basic electrical continuity and functional checks., • Install fiberglass body panels, roof caps, access doors, insulation, and exterior trim., • Drill, bond, seal, and fasten composite components using adhesives, sealants, and mechanical fasteners., • Perform minor surface prep, trimming, sanding, and finishing as required., • Ensure proper panel alignment, gaps, and cosmetic appearance., • Install finishing components like seat assemblies, lighting panels, railing systems, and component enclosures., • Apply finishing trims, moldings, and sealants., • Clean and prepare bus for presentation., • Use hand and power tools, basic measuring tools, templates, and jigs., • Follow work instructions, drawings, torque specs, and quality checkpoints., • Complete in-process inspections and document work as required., • Support quality investigations, rework, and corrective actions., • Proficiency in Mig welding and general labor tasks., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints., • Experience with mechanical assembly, automotive manufacturing, and automotive assembly., • Familiarity with hand tools and production processes., • Ability to use hand and power tools, basic measuring tools, templates, and jigs., • Understanding of work instructions, drawings, torque specifications, and quality checkpoints., • Experience in completing in-process inspections and documenting work., • Capability to support quality investigations, rework, and corrective actions. Work Environment This position requires frequent use of hands and fingers for welding, grinding, and assembly tasks. The role involves lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials and equipment up to 40 lbs, with occasional lifting of heavier items with assistance. Expect to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods during a shift. Hand-eye coordination is essential for precise welding and fitting operations. Visual acuity, including color perception and depth perception, is necessary for inspecting welds and reading drawings. The ability to hear alarms, signals, and communicate effectively in a noisy environment is required. You will be exposed to hot and cold temperatures depending on the production area and seasonal conditions, with moderate to high noise levels where hearing protection may be necessary. There is exposure to welding fumes, dust, and airborne particles, requiring proper respiratory protection and ventilation. Work is performed in well-lit areas, with occasional need for supplemental task lighting. The work surface includes walking and working on uneven, metal, or grating surfaces, and climbing ladders or working at elevated positions may be required. Personal protective equipment (PPE), including a welding helmet, gloves, protective clothing, and other PPE, is mandatory according to safety standards. Safety hazards include exposure to sparks, molten metal, and moving machinery, necessitating strict adherence to safety procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverside, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
