Interventional Radiology (IR) Registered Nurse Manager – Travel Contract Contract Length: 13 Weeks Guaranteed Hours: 37.5 hours/week Shift: 8.5-hour day shifts (1-hour lunch included) Pay Rate: $115–$120/hour Position Overview Seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology (IR) Registered Nurse for a high-acuity acute care setting. This role involves comprehensive patient management across pre-, intra-, and post-procedural phases, working closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment with diverse procedural exposure. Key Responsibilities • Perform patient assessments and charting via radiology flowsheets, • Manage care throughout all procedure phases (pre, intra, post), • Assist with IR and vascular procedures, including sedation monitoring, • Communicate care plans and updates with physicians and mid-level providers, • Perform IV insertions and CT/MRI prep for scheduled cases, • Monitor patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures Unit Details • 1 Interventional Radiology suite; access to Cath Lab for vascular procedures, • Average 5–8 IR cases daily, • ~50 CT prep/IV start patients per day, • 7 RN team supporting multiple procedural areas, • Electronic charting with Allscripts Procedures & Case Types • Biopsies (breast, thyroid, and various IR-guided), • Embolizations (bleeds, fibroids, tumors), • Thrombectomy (PE, DVT using INARI/EKOS systems), • Drain placements (abscess, pleural effusions, abdominal fluid), • Pain management injections (spine, joints), • Line placements (PICC, ports, tunneled catheters, permcaths), • Pacemaker monitoring and fistula evaluation Required Qualifications • Active RN license, • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience, • Strong IV insertion skills, • Certifications (AHA required):, • BLS, • ACLS, • PALS (required; pediatric experience not necessary), • Critical care experience preferred but not required, • Open to first-time travelers Scheduling & Work Environment • Day shifts with start times between 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, • No call requirements (weeknights, weekends, or holidays), • Flexible scheduling; travelers expected to assist with coverage gaps, • Occasional cross-utilization in Cath Lab for IR-specific procedures, • Royal blue scrubs; surgical scrubs allowed in Cath Lab *Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
