What Does Success Look Like As A Driver? • Transportation Services: Safely transport participants to and from the center, offsite activities, specialist appointments, and deliver meals as needed., • Participant Safety: Ensure participant safety during all stages of transport – from entering, riding in, and exiting the vehicle., • Observation and Reporting: Collaborate with the Transportation Coordinator and Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to observe and report changes in participants' physical and emotional health., • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections, maintain equipment quality, and report defects promptly., • Communication: Communicate clearly and professionally with participants, team members, and external contacts to create a welcoming experience., • Center Support: Assist with center activities during downtime by escorting participants, supporting events, and maintaining clean, organized spaces., • Contribute to Organizational Growth: Embrace additional opportunities and responsibilities as needed, actively participating in the continued growth and success of the organization.What Does An Ideal Candidate Look Like?, • Passion for Service: A strong mission orientation to serve high-risk seniors and frail older adults with care and respect., • Driving Experience: At least one (1) year of experience driving frail and elderly participants safely and reliably., • Physical Capability: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as part of your daily responsibilities., • Clean Driving Record: A valid California Class "C" Driver’s License with: At least five (5) years of driving experience. No more than one (1) moving violation or one (1) at-fault accident in the past three (3) years., • Education/Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; one (1) year of relevant experience may substitute for education., • Certifications: BLS, CPR and First Aid certification (to be obtained within 60 days of employment)., • Preferred Background: Experience in non-emergency or public transportation is a plusThe Fine Print (But Friendly!), • Location: Los Angeles, California, • Schedule: This is a fully onsite role, Monday through Friday, with hours that may range from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, • Flexibility: Opportunities for overtime and flexible weekend scheduling, • Culture: We value work-life balance and aim to create a supportive and dynamic environment for both our team and the participants we serveThe Working Environment:, • Make an impact beyond the wheel: This role works in a field-based healthcare environment where every ride helps connect participants to the care, services, and experiences that support their health and well-being., • A role rooted in connection: Drivers engage with participants, families, and care teams throughout the day, helping create a transportation experience that is safe, respectful, and welcoming., • No two days are exactly the same: The workday includes travel across the community, participant assistance at various locations, and adapting to real-time schedule and traffic changes., • Purposeful, active work: This is an ideal environment for someone who enjoys being out in the community, staying active, and playing an important role in the participant experience., • Built on safety and service: The environment requires professionalism, patience, sound judgment, and consistent focus on participant safety and comfort.The Physical Requirements:, • Ability to safely transport participants to and from the center, clinic, appointments, and other approved locations., • Ability to frequently get in and out of the vehicle and remain seated for prolonged periods while driving., • Ability to escort participants to and from residences, facilities, and appointment locations, including walking short to moderate distances., • Ability to bend, reach, squat, kneel, and twist to assist participants and secure wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility aids., • Ability to push and pull occupied wheelchairs and maneuver mobility equipment safely., • Ability to lift and carry personal items, supplies, or equipment up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation., • Ability to maintain the physical stamina, coordination, and attention required to safely assist medically complex or mobility-limited participants., • Ability to see, hear, and speak clearly enough to safely operate a vehicle, follow directions, respond to traffic conditions, and communicate with participants, caregivers, and team members.
