A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Sign Language Interpreter to provide 1:1 support at an elementary school in the Decatur, GA area, with consideration for candidates in surrounding locations such as Douglasville, GA. This position offers leave coverage from July 1st through August 13th, serving a unique and engaging role in the educational environment. The role involves working directly with a 3rd-grade student who divides their day between the Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) and general education classrooms. This position offers approximately 30 hours weekly, scheduled from 7:45 AM to 1:45 PM, providing meaningful interaction and support that enhances the students learning experience. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver clear and effective sign language interpretation for a 3rd-grade student during instructional times., • Collaborate closely with the TDHH and general education teachers to ensure seamless munication and accessibility., • Adapt munication strategies to meet the individual needs of the student in diverse classroom settings., • Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in educational settings., • Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture., • Ability to work 1:1 with students, providing personalized and attentive support.
