This Center of Excellence is the only state-of the-art comprehensive cancer center in the NYC Health+Hospitals System. Responsibilities: Under the supervision of a Senior/Supervising Psychiatrist in the Mental Health Service of CHS, this position requires the provision of high quality, team-based psychiatric services including psychopharmacologic interventions, for individuals incarcerated in the New York City jail system. Each of the facilities in the jail system has unique patient population and environmental characteristics; each psychiatrist will be matched with the population that most closely meets their clinical expertise, desired work location and schedule and the clinical needs of the service. Experience working in correctional settings is not required, however the ability to work closely and effectively with multiple other disciplines, including security staff, is critical. Responsibilities Include: • Provide psychiatric care, including admission evaluations, follow-ups, and urgent and emergent consultations to individuals with mental health needs., • Participate in the creation of an individualized treatment plan after discussing the case with the mental health care team, collecting and reviewing psychosocial data, medical history, nursing assessment, and other pertinent information., • Evaluate patients for the need for a higher level of care, including hospitalization, and refer to a higher level of care as clinically appropriate. A significant number of individuals in the NYC jail system will receive care on the mental health service. The service strives to provide safe, holistic and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for the diverse range of mental health issues that face the population, from serious mental illness to the natural struggles that accompany incarceration. The service provides some of the most comprehensive and unique treatment modalities in the country, including specialty housing units for individuals with serious mental illness, a 24-hour on-call psychiatric service, robust creative arts programming, clinics in each of the facilities, substance use treatment, medication assisted treatment (MAT), integrated re-entry services that includes alternatives to incarceration, and relationships with multiple training institutions throughout the city. Furthermore, CHS has been engaged in an effort to better identify people with neurodevelopmental/neurocognitive disorders and to utilize psychological testing to connect people to services in the community (e.g., with OPWDD). The Supervising Psychiatrist is a psychiatric leader of a facility, clinical area, or program and works in close collaboration with the Mental Health Unit Chief, Clinical Supervisors, and Senior Psychiatrist (if applicable) to ensure that safe, holistic, and evidence-based psychiatric care is provided to incarcerated patients with varying levels of mental health needs. A team-based approach to care is critical; one that incorporates all relevant mental health and medical disciplines as well as security staff. A major component of this position will be training, recruiting and retaining high quality staff and providing strong leadership and mentorship for existing staff. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Assist in the talent acquisition process for the Agency, including but not limited to, drafting employment advertisements, supporting Hiring Managers., • Process new hires, including but not limited to, drafting offer letters, processing required background checks in full compliance with regulations, maintaining up to date employment status on background check systems, processing new hire paperwork., • Process Background checks for new hires includes but is not limited to, criminal background checks, driver’s license checks, child registry and OMIG., • Follows up with outstanding trainings., • Coordinates New Hire Orientations., • Maintains up to date employee records ensuring compliance with federal and state record keeping requirements, including, documenting and filing all employee transactions, performance evaluations, new hire paperwork, I-9 and license maintenance., • Processes payroll transactions in HRIS system and coordinates proper transfer of information between payroll and People & Culture., • Onboards new hires, including but not limited to sending out emails with first day info, ensuring the onboarding documents are completed, meeting with them on their first day, verifying I-9s, and entering eligible new hires into benefits system., • Maintains up to date HRIS system., • Coordinates exit interviews and retrieval of company equipment., • Compiles ad-hoc People & Culture reports including but not limited to, staffing, employee census, and audits., • Assist employees with questions related to People & Culture policies and procedures, including but not limited to health and life benefits, paid time off, employee handbook, • Promotes a professional, welcoming and understanding company culture through support of the organization’s mission, vision and initiatives, • Complies with and stays abreast of federal, state, and local legal requirements, • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational and professional development agency opportunities., • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments, • Partner with the Compliance department to assign mandatory training to staff, assist with creating training plans when necessary., • Coordinate with Chief People & Culture Officer, leadership, and c-suite executives regarding employment requisitions., • Complete requested documentation regarding employee leave of absence, employment verification, etc., • Coordinate with IT and Compliance to ensure new employees have proper access upon start date., • Process terminations, ensuring the agency has received all returned equipment and access is terminated., • Conduct annual open enrollment consisting of hosting staff meetings, preparing files for payroll, and communicating with medical carriers/ record keeping agencies., • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.Requirements: Education & Experience • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field, • 2 years Human Resources experience, required, • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (word, excel, Outlook, power point), • Working knowledge of Paylocity and Relias Training a plus, • Excellent oral and written communication skills, • Ability to work with multiple levels of management, • Strong organizational skills with detail orientation and ability to gather and analyze information skillfully, • Strong time management with an ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, • Flexibility and willingness to learn, • Team player with a positive outlook MHANC offers an extensive benefits package to full-time employees, which includes: • Medical, • Dental, • Vision, • Health Savings Account, • Flexible Spending Account, • 403(b) Retirement Plan, • Life Insurance, • Paid Time Off, • Paid Sick & Safe Leave, • Long Term Disability, • Short Term Disability, • Paid Holidays, • Employee Assistance Program, • Pre-Tax Commuter Benefit

Job Description The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with New York City H + H/Queens Hospital Center has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Chief of Otolaryngology. The Associate Chief of Otolaryngology will perform a full spectrum of general and subspecialty outpatient and surgical care. Administrative responsibilities include oversight of all aspects of the otolaryngology service as well as supervision and training of staff. On call responsibility is included. Candidates should have a strong interest in health equity and clinical operations as there are a variety of opportunities for program development and advancement. The hospital is easily accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City, New Jersey and Long Island. Candidates must have an MD degree and be Board Certified with a valid New York State License, DEA and Medicaid number. Qualified candidates should have strong clinical abilities, teaching experience, and communication and interpersonal skills.
