The Diamond Law Library at Columbia University has an opening for a Librarian for East Asian Law, who will support research and teaching of the faculty and students of Columbia Law School by developing the Law Library's Japanese, Chinese, and Korean law collections, and providing reference services to students, faculty, visitors, fee-based service members, and the local, national, and international legal community. Reporting to the Associate Director, the successful candidate will develop Columbia's Japanese, Chinese and Korean law collections by selecting new materials for purchase and selecting new additions from gift materials. The position will also serve as the initial contact for gifts of monographs, serials, and E-resources; and will identify which books to weed or transfer to offsite storage. Responsibilities also include training law students and others through classroom teaching, workshops, and one-on-one instruction; providing in-depth research assistance for faculty members; creating and maintaining LibGuides; and other related duties.
